Cedar Ridge 7/12

Gone twice this week, and other than a few short fish on a drop shot, it has been tough. Fishing between 11am and 3pm. Going to try and hit the early bite friday to see if it’s more productive.

I went last Saturday during the cold front. Water was flat out rough from the north wind and all of the wake boats running around.

All I managed was a couple decent channel cats.

While riding by the dam I saw a big catfish floating dead. Definitely not a flathead. Seems to be a pretty heated debate whether or not there are blues in Stockton so I'd say it was a big channel. Probably 15-20lbs. I was tempted to roll it around and get a couple pics but it was pretty ripe.

We saw one, definitely a channel in the 10 pound range in Turkey Creek sunday floating.  It was pushed up against the rocks, but had been there a day or 2.

I’ve seen similar stuff.  Three trips to the Big Sac arm=7 bass.  Three trips to Cape Fair =118 bass.  I have no plans to go north for a while.

This time of year I rarely ever go during the day unless it's real early in the morning. I have been catching some at night around Cedar Ridge on a 10" worm.
