Bill Babler Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 They had vine ripe homegrown tomatoes for the first time at the SK farmers market this morning. We had them for lunch, man they were good. $2.00 a pound. My best buddy said he would never pay that kind of money as when he was a kid in the 60’s they sold them for .7C a pound. I’m glad to pay it, way worth the 2 bucks. Gas this morning in SK was also down $4.09. Heard Sams and Costco were at $3.59 but that was just a rumor. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Ketchup Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Our cherry tomatoes are thriving. We get about 20 a day. Our larger plants are still green, but noticed some turning color this morning. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Bill Babler Posted July 21, 2022 Author Posted July 21, 2022 Used to always be 4th. Of July here in Missouri, but not anymore. If you can get them it’s closer to August and the season is really short unless your really good or really lucky. Becky went to Wally World in Berryville this morning and she said gas was $3.99, there and also at Carr Lane. Gets under $3 and we can get this up one day down 2 day deal from the stock market solved and it could get ok. Wont feel so bad about spending little money fishing. big c 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Terrierman Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I've been eating good tomatoes for nearly a month. Our price cutter has a small section of heirlooms that are very good. Mostly brandywine with a few Cherokee purple now and then. Lately the produce stands nearly all have good vine ripened tomatoes that are grown outdoors in dirt. Thankfully! grizwilson 1
Quillback Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I've been getting some from the garden the last couple of weeks. Having BLT's tonight. $2 per lb. is not bad.
rps Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 We have a patio garden. We have had cherry tomatoes from our one plant for over three weeks. The Romas are begging to turn red. The bush steak has given us four, but we must harvest before ripe to save them from the birds. The heat here has been tough on the plants, especially since they are in pots.
96 CHAMP Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Bought a bushel of Romas last weekend and canned stewed tomatoes, celery, peppers, onion, & garlic Johnsfolly 1
