Bought a big spool of P-Line floroclear in 12lb 3 years ago. I have spooled several reels with it. Every reel it has been on, i have had constant line break. I never thought much about until i was talking to a couple guys at our tournament who said they had the same issues, so stopped using it.

Anyone else use/had issues with it?

I'm of the opinion that all mono/flouro has a shelf life, even if it's covered. I always strip quite a bit off of my older rolls and toss it before spooling up. If it isn't glossy and new looking, I don't want it on my reels. I'm guessing that isn't your issue though since you probably have had the issues since it was new, unless the roll you bought had been sitting on the shelf for years.

It's why I pretty much only use braid and switch between whatever leader suits the style of fishing I'm doing. Braid is a pain to tie and is pretty wimpy as far as abrasion resistance goes, a leader solves those problems, and it'll last forever. At most you will have to replace the ~100 feet of braid you actually fish with as it fatigues from running through the guides, but it takes a really long time.

I think I've only ever used P-line once, and not for very long. If I remember right it twisted terribly and I got tired of messing with it.

I tried P-line years ago for suspending baits and did not like the feel or durability.  I am all braid or flour/braid combo except for a couple topwater rods spooled with mono.  It’s been my experience that you get what you pay for with respect to fishing lines…I have not found anything inexpensive that I really like.

I had a similar issue with P-Line fluorocarbon line, a couple years ago. Broke off several fish. was new line. switched the line and had same problem, from the same spool. Said that is it. Checked all guides and they were fine. Had not had any backlashes either. Sometimes bad backlashes can cause the same thing. Changed out to all Viscous Line and have never looked back. Been using it now. I will say however that I have had several Large spools of 12 and 15lb P-Line Mono for 12 to 14 years now. I use it for strictly topwater stuff and still to this day have not had a issue with it at all.

Try Viscous Fluorocarbons. I think you will like it.

Seaguar Red Label is about all i use anymore. I got a whole bunch a couple years back when they are on sale for like $7.99.  I stored all inside a closet and havent had any issues.  The price of it keeps going up and up though now. I am curious to try the new Seaguar Basix

I am a fan of P-line, but I will admit the twist coming off the spool isn't great. I only use the CX Premium. Tried the CXX and didn't like it at all. I haven't tried any of the other lines in P-line's lineup.

I use Pline original on my ultra lite setups for whites and crappie.  I’ve used it for years.

I love the p line %100 fluorocarbon in 6 and 8 for the streams.

Bought the copolymer one by mistake and it was terrible.

Me too.  I just ordered 1000 yards of 12# from Amazon.
