Yeah it is, i got it rigged up on a rod that is 8" longer than i was using and went down to 15lb mono.  And not to mention the bait is almost 1.5 ounces.  

I was 50ft shy of where i needed my sexy dawg which is only 5/8 oz, on 20lb and a 6'5" rod.   I think the new set up will get it there

Some people like helping others out. Kinda what this site is for. Even though fishing reports are few and far between these days. No secret there are stripers at powersite

Throw that jigging spoon, it will work well on the retrieve. Let it drop for half a second (if it will get that far before they wack it) You can work it like a walking bait back to the boat, it looks just like a fish trying to get away.

I have not caught striper doing that but I have caught many other species.
