I just cant cast it far enough to my liking. I stick with 4# or less mono or FC, change it out every 2 or 3 times I go, and spray some silicone lube on the spool and line guides.
DADAKOTA Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I typically throw a 1/16 ounce jig and have no problem casting it a long way with PowerPro 4/15. Newer Quantum reel have no problem with the braid. Some older abu garcia and shimano reels I have just don't like braid. Continually had issue with knots, loops, etc. Usin braid, many times I have fished for days with the same jig head till the hook finally breaks.

Best color was their version of Electric Chicken on a 1/15 oz Z-Man Finesse head in chartreuse. I was fishing in the back of my buddy's boat who has Livescope and about 20 years experience on Table Rock and knew where the crappie were located this time of year. We caught 15 keeper crappie between the two of us and the Shad FryZ outcaught his plastic grubs at about 2 to 1. We were swimming baits over the tops of brush piles. @Ham grizwilson, MarkG52, nomolites and 1 other 4
Ham Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 CheaterScope is amazing. It’s made crappie fishing so much easier Quillback 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted October 13, 2022 Author Posted October 13, 2022 Forgot to mention something about the FryZ - the little boot tail on them kicks nicely at slow speed.
