I have looked and cannot seem to find the info I am looking for.

So the question is. Do you or are you suppose to wear your life jacket when the big motor is running and in gear moving. Is there a regulation or law with regards to this.

So if you have them in the boat is all that is required?

What about inflatables, they are completely worthless if not on when or if you fall in.?

In the boat and EASILY ACCESSIBLE not in a box with the lid closed.

Inflatables addressed.  See above post.

Class A vessels less than 16' (which includes all 16' jon boats, since they are technically 15'11" or less) are only required to have a throwable device, or "USCG Approved cushion" for each passenger.

That is State Law, which is all that matters, unless you are running the Mississippi.    If on the big Miss. then you need a wearable pfd onboard..... just in case.

You are not required by law to WEAR anything unless you are still in diapers.

Interesting factoid that most likely don't know..... The kill switch law that was put into effect recently has already been beaten by case law.   They won't make that public knowledge (and for good reason) but you will NOT be given a citation for failure to comply, and if you are then you can beat it without a lawyer.

BUT STILL......WEAR THE BLASTED THING!!!!  😁

I don’t remember the last time I saw a 7 year old in diapers.

I remember 2nd grade.  Not a day went by that somebody didn't smell like they had $#!t their pants.

And occasionally it was Me 😂

I blame those Del Monte raisin boxes that Mom always put in my lunch.
