Line size?

I am not much of a jig guy - but I throw them on 12lb when I do throw them without much problem. I am sure you will get more information from a real jig fishing guy before too long - good help on this forum.

I throw nothing but 20 all year for jigs. 15-17 will be just fine.  I use a heavy rod too, with a med-heavy the lighter line will be good.
I really dont think the fish care. I used to use 15 all the time and my buddy in the back of the boat with 20 would catch twice as many

I use 12 lb. Sunline Sniper when casting rocky/woody areas and 15 lb. when pitching docks. But I'm using 5/16 ballhead finesse jigs exclusively. You can go up to 20 lb. for dragging football jigs.

Too bad Bo isn't still around to post his usual poo-poo on my feelings about line size. :(

I'm with Andy on this one. Most of my jig rigs are currently spooled with 15 or 17. I do switch to 20 during bigger stakes events mostly just for the confidence factor but honestly I dont notice a difference either as far as catches. I just like how the 15 casts easier.
