Members Ozark Nomad Posted October 4, 2022 Members Posted October 4, 2022 I just picked up a Colorado XT inflatable pontoon boat and was wondering if anyone uses one of these or has used one of these to fish the trophy area? I was thinking about giving it a try. Might put a small trolling motor on it. Ik314 1
Members Ik314 Posted October 4, 2022 Members Posted October 4, 2022 I’m looking to do the same in a kayak soon! I know everything will depend on how much water is running, but Hoping some folks chime in with some good takeout ideas
jdmidwest Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I have used a pontoon like that on the White and Norfork with several units running. Its a blast. Never needed a trolling motor, they row pretty easy. Greasy B Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 If you don’t have them already pick up some swim fins, the wind is going spin you. Gavin Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Wind & slack water are your enemies in one of those, but they provide a nice comfy ride in good current. There a bit wide for the Current, but fine on the 11pt, NFoW, Taney. Set up time is a chore, so bring it fully assembled, but with tubes deflated a bit. Keep it IN the water with tubes inflated in the summer time, deflate in camp...Bring the pump and patch kit. Greasy B 1

JestersHK Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Was great meeting you and fishing together Friday night. Wish the fish cooperated a bit better. We found some tonight, only 1 over 20 and a chunky brownie. Jig bite was on fire for a bit tonight. 1/32 sculpin. trythisonemv 1
Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 I prefer just to keep things simple... mainly using the boat to get from place to place. In fact, I hardly fish out of the boat itself at all - I beach it. No need for a motor - I just row the boat.
