Getting fish addicted to the bait days before a carp tournament?

is there cheating? I’m sure but less than people who allow trailering….we use the peg system

Bait boats are not allowed in some contests because they are expensive and you can chum things that run fish away from pegs…..which are drawn prebaiting does you no good if someone else gets that peg…..72 hours is at

pretty Much the standard…..most “ socials “ are just that side pots for biggest fish sometimes biggest buff…..

No, I didn't either.

My surprise was that three different search engines took that search and returned page after page of bass tourney cheater with the walleye cheaters mixed in. The links you posted were  the top tier returns no matter how many times I put the word "Carp" in the request. without going into it too deep it appears that cheating is considered normal in the bass circles and some guy (s) that have been caught after stealing $1000s were just quietly  told not to come back, but were never prosecuted. Sponsors managed to keep the appearances up so the spenders keep spending.

My assumption was that any competition attracts cheaters, so, it was also a minor  surprise not to find a few carp having ice funneled into them.

Most carp tournaments, the ones that seem to be popular in the US anyway, the carp have arrows funneled into them.

Prebaiting doesn’t get fish “ addicted” but think match the hatch so to speak….however most events ban fishing X amount of days before a match….pegs are typically drawn it would be foolish to chum up a spot for someone else to draw….on the subject of bait boats..in events where pegs are far apart so no one can dump a load of chum to draw fish in that area out of casting range or floating / suspending chum while your offerings are unmolested on bottom, ever worse a load of tide pods of borax boilies to run fish completely out of an area….something that gets done in paylakes….conflict has happed and people have been shot…paylakes are a different animal…
