fishinwrench Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Even went high-dollar on the swivels! 👍 🙂
fshndoug Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 As noted in a earlier post on the Clouser fly with the blade and swivel that Glen talked about. Material list: swivel is a roller swivel from Jann's Netcraft size 14 Size #0 Colorado blade for a small Clouser and a # 0 fine split ring or a # 1 Colorado blade for a little larger Clouser size 4 hook to a size #2 hook. I use 15-20 lb' big game line as a connection for the split ring and the roller swivel. Line goes through the split ring. I use a Gamakatsu B10s in Size #6,4,2 or A Mustad 34007 stainless steel #2 or #4 kjackson 1

I did a internet search and not finding much. I haven't caught a walleye in 40 years so I'm clueless. If you have a recipe or a video, please let me know. If he is a troller, then he may not be accustomed to casting for walleye. If he fishes only impounded waters, then he needs a simple white or firetiger jig with a trailer, meat or imitation meat, or plastic. If he intends to fish moving water, then clousers with a little flash tied in will work. tjm 1

mic Posted December 6, 2022 Author Posted December 6, 2022 I got a black deer tail yesterday; no white though. I do have some white calves tail. I think I can get some longer strands from that.

If nothing, but maybe a little flash, is added.....then use untrimmed Bucktail. The tips give it all the action it needs. As far as swivels go.....as long as it spins freely when the fly/jig is dropping then you're good. The less weight involved in the blade system the better (I think).
