dtrs5kprs Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Jim Eakins passed about a week ago. Folks might know already, but I didn't until I saw it in Bass Blaster today. Changed jig fishing for a lot of folks. grizwilson, Quillback, cheesemaster and 2 others 5
Hunter53 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I had not heard about it; thanks for posting. May he Rest In Peace!!
dblades Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Sad to hear, Jim was my first draw in the old CPAA, had the pleasure of fishing with him a couple of times. Got a lesson in early winter fishing docks. dtrs5kprs 1
rps Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Eakins was a junction, like Don Butler, Joe Krieger, and Buck Perry. From there we have disciples. Bill Dance, Jimmy Whats His Name , somebody Martin. Eakins went the way of finesse, and slow, and on the bottom. Now that everyone power fishes, Eakin's legacy shines bright. Members ksbugman200 Posted January 13, 2023 Members Posted January 13, 2023 Sorry to hear. May he Rest In Peace. Condolences to the family. Like dblades, I had the opportunity to draw him out a couple of times in the old CPAA days. He gave me a lot of insight into his jig fishing “system”. dtrs5kprs 1
