20230206_141726.jpgIt's been a while for any report from Stockton and this is more of the same. I didnt have alot of time to fish(9:30-1) bc of work and kids but I got up there for about 3 or 4 hours Monday. I knew it would be windy and that's about the only time thing weatherman is always right on. I knew going up itd be tough and I was correct. Took me about 3 stops before I found some fish. Found a Mega School of very Large crappie in the Ruark area but they were on the move. They would stay in an area but not stationary for sure. With the wind I couldnt get a jig down to them before they moved on and if I did, they did not seem interested. I tried 3 or 4 colors before I went to a little heavier Small spoon style bait. That was the key to getting to them but they were more interested in staying together than they were my spoon. The few I did catch did not disappoint as they were all over 13" with one 15"er in the bunch. Had to load up and get going but I'd say I could have caught plenty had I switched earlier or not had to leave. Lesson learned I soppose.

I was out on Sunday.

While fishing in some of those thick schools and not getting bit, I managed to snag the pictured carp and a large shad. They were bunched up super tight.

The crappie were pretty scattered, but I did catch 3 keepers and two keeper walleye, so not a bad trip. No whites this time which I thought was odd, I had been catching them just about 3-1 for every other species.
