Ketchup Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Took 27+ to win on Pomme today. Jerkbait only tournament but I’m suspicious. 😉 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Smithvillesteve Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 wow!!! Thats unbelievable. Is Pomme becoming a great bass fishing lake now? That would be so nice. I have a place down there but i dont fish it that much. I go over to Truman and fish for crappies and like to go over to Stockton to chase walleyes and smallies. Thanks for reporting Ketchup. Not much on Pomme forum lately. Ketchup 1

Yeah, but it was crazy everywhere with those things for awhile. But I also remember a lot of nice bags of fish on Pomme back in the early 90's.

Smithvillesteve Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Its been a few years now but our local fish wrap, the KC Star, used to put the tournament results in the paper once a week. I would always check Pomme. Several times 6 or 7 lbs would win a tournament. With big bass being a 2+. Like i said thats been a while back. I assumed thats why Pomme went to 13 inch minimum for LM. I could be wrong on that. And maybe with FFS and A rigs the results went much higher?? Bottom line is i am tickled to death to see Pomme producing like that!!!

Pomme has always been at the 13 inch minimum. And in some of the tougher months you might not have more than 6 or 7 pounds. But it typically took at least 16 to win the tournaments that I fished. If you had a bag of 13 inchers you just needed to put your boat on the trailer. My dad and I had 21+ pounds one day with a 6-10 kicker and felt pretty good about it. Didn't even get a check. But again this was all early 90's and it probably fished a lot better back then. But I also felt like a bunch of people didn't really know how to fish that lake. It doesn't fish like Table Rock and it doesn't fish like Stockton. It's a weird lake but I love it.
