Quillback Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Spent the day fishing with Dutch, luckily he made it to the ramp, he had an interesting driving experience this morning. I may not have the details right, but Dutch was on HWY 39 with a semi behind him and a couple of cars behind the semi. One of the cars back there decided it was time to pass the semi and Dutch at the same time. Problem was it was in a no passing zone with a blind curve. As the car came up on Dutch, here comes a car in the opposite lane, the passing car then of course cuts into Dutch to avoid the head-on. Fortunately for Dutch he was able to slow down enough to let that joker get in front of him without hitting him and having the semi take them all out. But it was a close one. The fishing today was good, most of the fish we caught were on shallow gravel banks with wind on them. Throwing the 2.8's and 3.3's right up shallow and working them back slowly. Water was stained. We caught a few back in coves, but the best bite was the banks on the main channel. Got a picture below of Dutch with a spot and you can see the bank behind him. That was a good bank - we caught a couple of keeper eyes, couple of nice crappie, and a few bass on that bank. Some of those banks don't have fish, some do, when you find them, they'll bite. We had close to 30 bass, 4 keeper eyes, and Dutch caught 3 nice crappie. Biggest bass was 3 lbs, somewhere around 7-8 of them were keepers. Caught one eye on a lizard, Dutch got a couple of bass on a shakey head, but everything else was on the Keitech. We talked to Macsimus back at the dock, he had caught a 19" smallie. rps Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Good for you. I think I recognize the general area you fished.

Dutch Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 It never did warm up today. I kept everything on until we finished, but what the heck I am a sissy. I wish that I knew the area where I fish as well as he knows this one. Johnsfolly 1
