Nothing earth shattering, but wanted to contribute some type of report.   Fished a couple of coves/pockets between Cow Creek and Kennel Branch this morning.   Ended up with about 10 fish, 2 keepers- 1 LM and 1 Kentucky,  nothing big.   Also had a couple of little smallmouth.    Caught them on Swimbait, pee wee football jig and ned rig with a Berkley Flat worm, green pumpkin.    The keepers were caught on the jig about half way back in a cove, close to mixed rock bank.   Lost a good one that spit the jig.     Caught a few on a dock in about 18-20 feet.   Water temp was 59 when I put in and guessing it was 61 when I left at 1:00.    Wind really picked up about 11:00.    Also caught a nice goggle eye on a dock on the swim bait.    I was using 2.8 Keitech and the pro swimmer from Big Bite Baits.   Shad colors mostly.

I appreciate all the reports from everyone and wanted to start contributing more.    I retired end of last year, so will have more time to fish now.   Hoping to crank up the numbers soon!

Congrats and wishing you many days of enjoyable fishing!

The only downside to retirement that I can put my finger on is that scheduling stuff can be difficult when you never know what day it is!

But then I'm only ten years in so I'm sure I still have a lot to learn.

Congratulations!

Thanks, Vernon.   Days do run together but enjoying so far!

I still remember when my mom and dad retired constantly asking. "What day is today anyways?" and I thought that had to be the coolest feeling in the world.

I was right!

Pro tip:  In the unlikely event you ever get bored I highly recommend taking a nap!

Off topic, but, umm...you aren't heading down to the lake in the next few weeks, are you Vernon?

Trying to decide how many sets of goretex to pack 😉.

At the request of the Branson Chamber of Commerce I had been kinda keeping it on the down low so as to not disrupt tourism throughout the area but since you asked yes we are.

We'll be heading down next month the 12th thru the 20th.

There.  I said it.
