             Negatory. You ever witnessed when a Squirrel sees an owl, Bobcat, coyote or other predator? It does not have to be flying over or walking on the ground. Chickens, Turkeys, ducks, chipmunks or other animals that have good eyesight.  And ones not seeing it will know something is there because when that squirrel lets out a warning chatter every other squirrel chatters. I do agree it does need to be moved from time to time so they don't get conditioned to it.

The one on my porch does nothing to keep cats, squirrels, rabbits, or anything else from having their way with whatever they want in the front yard. 

He looks cool though, so he gets to stay.  🙂

This here ball licker keeps the critters out of my shop way better than the owl keeps the cats and coons out of the trash on the porch.
