Maverickpro201 Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 The pump ball for fuel is continuing to get soft after using. Like in 24 hours. Is this normal? I am going to replace it with a new one. The old one has zip ties on both ends, to hold the hose's on the ball. Is this a normal installation now days. I have always used clamps before or constant tension clamps prior. What would you suggest that I use? Thanks
fishinwrench Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 The only time the primer bulb should be tight & firm is when it is pumped up before the engine is started. Otherwise it should just be free of air, not necessarily under pressure. Electrical zip ties are not recommended for fuel or oil hose. The zip ties designed for hose connections are chemical and UV resistant and have special heads and a different locking mechanism. nomolites, BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 3 1

You never seeing it doesn't mean that it isn't there. I guarantee that it is......and thanks to gravity you'll need to use it if you ever run it out of fuel. 👍 yowoodchuck 1

Never really knew they made a zip tie for that purpose. I have seen the crimped metal bands, those seem pretty worthless. fishinwrench Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Way better for hoses 3/8" and smaller. yowoodchuck and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
