I'm questionable now.  Dislocated my left hip saturday.  But it is getting better.

I did it a couple years ago.   I quit pickle ball because every time I moved sideways and stopped it would pop out again.   Really odd feeling for sure.

 I slipped on slick floor and did the splits.  Agonizing pain, couldn't get up to save me.  First ambulance ride for me to ER.  It's getting better pretty quickly though.  At this point the knee splint that I have to wear for a while is the biggest PITA.  Can't imagine what yours was like.

When I was young I had an issue with my knee popping out of place, worst pain I have ever felt.
