Don’t judge me….just judge the Tackle Max craw today that caught at least 17+ pounds of smallmouth for the best 5. The craw excels in cold water. The water was super clear today with 12-14 ft visibility and 39 degrees on the Meramec.

Someone acting as though they believe all of that probably doesn't harm anyone. But a person who pretends to believe it.....even though they truly don't, is not fooling anyone.     Especially God, providing he does exist and have control over anything. 

 

I think the biggest misconception among Christians is that a person can't be a "good person" unless they believe the words of the bible.       

Believing should mean BELIEVING (literally), not merely "accepting it as true".   Simply saying that you believe means nothing.    And IMO anyone with a properly working brain can't HONESTLY accept any of the religious teachings as TRUTH.    

Now, that being said......if living with, and openly sharing those truthful feelings results in me spending an eternity in hell.....then so be it.    Because I not only have doubts that heaven exists.....I also can see no (zero) evidence that "hell" exists either.    I don't require fear of some mystical boogieman watching over me to keep me in line.....But maybe some folks do, therefore religion may have an important societal purpose.   And if that's the case then I wish it worked better, because statistically there are no (zero) Atheists in prison.  None working in government, the IRS, or license bureau's either. 😅

What prison did any of them spend any time in ?  🤔 

 

In essence my point was that the absence of religion-based morality doesn't mean no morality at all.

I’m not a big fan of people saying God helped them win a fishing tournament, but I’m also not a fan of those who get really enraged by it. I’m enraged by babies being killed in partial birth abortions and also saddened by babies passing away from cancer. We are all hypocrites in some way. The best way to fix the world is look in the mirror…and that includes me.
