trythisonemv Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Going to sling big bugs on Capps Sunday. Had some good fish move last year and hope to find them hungry again this year
Buzz Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I hope you find them. I'm not going to make it this year, but I hope to do it next year. trythisonemv 1 If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

It was slowwwww. Biggest one came on a bugger jig in olive it was 17 in rainbow. If they have stocked it hs been wiped out. Caught one small parr marked rainbow and one brown missed quite a few rainbows didn't see any big browns at all. tjm, ness, BilletHead and 3 others 6
trythisonemv Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 Camera was in truck for big rainbow but I kept it to eat. My wife has never had trout BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3, Terrierman and 1 other 4
Buzz Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 I caught a parr marker a couple of weeks ago. At least you caught a few. trythisonemv 1 If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
tjm Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Was too cold for me, even though I had the tackle ready to go. I used to fish in minus temps, with ice on the guides, but these days don't find it much fun when the air drops below ~40F. When I talked to the hatchery driver there last spring, he told me they always stocked the browns in November, so I'm surprised that they haven't stocked the stream recently. Should have been an October stocking of rainbows from what I was told, but given how few fish were being stocked at RRSP over the summer, the stocking might have been a small one. trythisonemv 1

I got out a couple times last year when the temp was in the 30’s but it was calm and sunny. trythisonemv and tjm 2
ollie Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Well, for me, life just got in the way this time around. I came down with Covid last week earlier on so it took me out of the game all of last week. Must have been an alright day, you didn't end up skunked! Which is pretty easy to do down there. I guess you won this year by default whether you caught anything or not! lol BilletHead, Terrierman, trythisonemv and 1 other 3 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
tjm Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 The parr are interesting, has anyone seen redds there? can the trout get up/over the mill dam to the springs? trythisonemv 1
