Excuse me?!    I have and love my 2 stroke.  Smokes less than than my brand new mercury 4 stroke.  3 less sets of plugs in the first 2 years too😂.   If you ever run across one of those old 90-115 hp long shaft oil burners ear mark it for me please.   I don’t even know if they made long shafts so I’ll cut cut my transom down if needed.  😁

What do you have that requires a long shaft?   (25")

Shaft length is measured from the mount to the bottom of the cavitation plate.

Short is 15-17"

Standard is 20-22"

Long is 25-27"

Make/model of Engine makes no difference.   The 2" variance is only given for the purpose of tilt angle......cuz some derelicts who live in the hills can't tell what's straight up & down. 😅

Do you need a plumb bob ?

Stupidest question anyone has ever asked me. 😂

See what I mean about suburbanites and how smart they think they are?

I’m smart enough to ask someone who knows like you.   This motor is longer than the mercury that came on it.  I’ll measure it.

What is the 70 HP?   (Merc, Evinrude, Force, Suzuki, Tohatsu ????)

And where is your derby going out of ?

2001 Johnson, going out of PB2.  Early April.  My kiddo fishes out of his partner's dad's boat on tourney day so they're running a newer 115hp I believe.

I can make due in my lil ol' Lowe.  Typically stick to uplake ventures chasing whatever is biting (crappie, whites, etc) but grew up in the Ozarks chunking and winding for bass.  Thought I had gotten away from following the green fish for 5 good bites, but my kiddo has dragged me back!

Ive done a lot of diving around Diamond City and Buck Creek a ton and I'll say this, I doubt I've ever went down and NOT ran across a 4 lb bass. They really are everywhere. I just think they are somewhat smart.  And I've only dove in summer months and always less than 30ft because at 50-70 we never see hardly any life.

I know people might argue with this but I've spent very many hours under water and that's my take.
