Matter of fact, the best bow for instinctive shooting (or even bare-bow shooting) is NOT a compound. And definitely not a compound with a cam.....which her bow has.

I don't know what their salary is, but if they aren't any better than the coach Oneshot's grandkid has.....then I could definitely do a better job of it. I've never even heard of "Genesis Archery". Who the heck are they, and who accepted them as a sponsor ? They should be ashamed to display a banner at that event. No Really! Maybe I just hold higher standards than you and Ronnie 🤷♂️ If I'm going to send a team to STATE LEVEL competition...... I'm at least going to TRY. Does that make me a jackass? 🙄 Here's a project for ya.....Show me an Olympic event where they are shooting Split Limb Cam bare-bows ! I'll wait 😙

fishinwrench Posted March 23 Posted March 23 In case you're all wondering, Yes I know where I stepped out of line I didn't say, "Oh how nice of her school to promote such a thing. And how nice of y'all to show up and offer support by being there to watch her fail". I'm not that guy 😁 She's Oneshot's grandkid.....and I'd prefer that she KILLS IT ! I suspect her "coach" would be better at instructing a knitting class.

Terrierman Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Nowhere in this thread did anybody ask for any help or coaching up. Just sayin'. fishinwrench 1
Flysmallie Posted March 23 Posted March 23 You made a judgement off one single picture. In my mind that’s stupid. You can’t tell anything about her shooting skills from one photo. And if you don’t know who Genesis Archery is then you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to this level of shooting. Most of the coaches are not archery coaches. They are just school teachers that care enough to help kids learn a different hobby. There are 5,500 kids participating and zero will go on to the Olympics. My youngest actually had a coach that we lost because he went on to help coach on the Olympic team. Sophi and I shot those bows when she was first getting started. They are actually perfect for what they are using them for. Equal equipment at this point makes sure that everyone has a chance. Sophi switched to Olympic recurve as soon as they let her. That’s when it gets serious. Much harder to control that than compound. I enjoyed that time with her. But neither I nor Craig ever tried over coach her. She was doing it her own way.
