oneshot 1 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 MODOT can only Detour on State Highway that is the reason people are driving way out of their way to get to the Park because of them working on the Bridge on 64 Highway. I know a way that really isn't out of the way. My wife said not to tell you because it might confuse you or you might call me a liar again. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Coming from the North, Independence Rd. (right before the water tower on 5 hwy.) will take you to AA. It actually cuts 3 miles off the trip to Bennett......but it's gonna be either dusty or muddy because it's 5 miles of gravel. You'll wanna hit the car wash on the way home for sure.
oneshot 1 Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 Go West on 64 HWY to a sign pointing the way to Paws and Claws turn right there. Turn first road on the Left. Second Stop sign Turn Left. One mile Turn right on 64 HWY. Narrow road but paved. Total about 6 miles. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr 1

It's good to know that it doesn't. 👍 As for Independence...... That's where my machine shop is. 😉
oneshot 1 Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 I lived a couple blocks off Independence Ave. In Kansas City when I went to school. Kind of figured that is what you did. I use to get around finding out stuff now my Son does this stuff. I use to travel and visit alot. One time took my family on a Hunting Trip. We was at camp asked a Son if he wanted to go riding around? Sure. Got back to camp Mom you wouldn't believe the people Dad knows. oneshot
Members Xraydude Posted June 24 Members Posted June 24 I used this route through there, not the best route if pulling a big camper. I and 11 family members visited the park this weekend. Fishing was the worst I can ever remember. I guess that’s why I was able to get 2 cabins by the spring on short notice. snagged in outlet 3 1

The park has been in decline as a fishing destination for years. I don’t understand why and It’s a shame really.
