Dutch Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Maybe. I am pretty sure that I would have to buy a new setup for that light of one unless I were to try it on a spinning setup which would take me out of my comfort zone.

I think they just “call” it a quarter. I throw it a mile on a med st croix BassX bait caster.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 14 Author Posted July 14 @Dutchi was just joking around. Here’s a picture of a “half ounce triple blade next to the 1/4. With a twin tail trailer it definitely has enough weight for a bait caster. My BassX is a 7’2” med heavy.

Once I started using a trailer on buzzbaits I hooked a lot more fish. Gamakatsu SP Trailer Hooks 4pk | Tackle Warehouse Size 2/0 fits perfectly 👍. Thx Quillback 1
Champ188 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 War Eagle makes a 1/8-ounce buzzer that can easily be thrown on a baitcaster with 14-pound mono. Guess it depends on what rod/reel you use. Caught 5 for 19 lbs. on it in a derby a few years back to win a couple thousand reasons not to pooh-pooh small buzz baits. 🔨 nomolites, Terrierman and snagged in outlet 3 3

snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 21 Author Posted July 21 I caught two keepers and 2 dinks on the buzzer around noon when the rain stopped today. All on the 1/4 ounce buzzer. Fished main lake cuts and coves down here by big cedar. Then I found this guy in the back of a cove tangled in a trot line with a duck decoy as the float. No name, address or anything on it. He was almost dead so I cut the line out of his snappers and let him go. If it had some ID on it I would have let it be. nomolites, cheesemaster, Quillback and 1 other 4

You're not going to believe this, but I have Dutch as a witness. Today we saw two, not one, but two duck decoys being used as floats. One of them was moving around a bit, but we didn't pull it to see what was on. Duck decoys as floats must be a thing these days. Beaver lake BTW. @snagged in outlet 3 snagged in outlet 3 1

Beaver lake BTW. I bet the one I recovered probably traveled at least 500 yards before I grabbed it. Far enough it went out of sight while I fished and I had to go look for it. It’s not a bad idea but shouldn’t they have contact info on them? And. How do they find them after a fish is on it towing it around? Quillback 1
