It's Hopper Time!

I believe the hopper/terrestrial bite has started at Taney.  Hit  part of the narrows and above bluff bank with a hopper pattern.  Lot's of action, landed nice size bow, 2 eats 2 hookups, one threw hook other big fish wrapped around some timber, this all happened in.a short period of time, thinking it should just keep getting better.

I've also been seeing a lot of big Japanese beetle-looking bugs, but these are triple the size of what I usually see.  I wonder if they'd work... someone showed me a half dz jbugs they found in a rainbow's gut back in June.

I've got those around here too.  Never had them before that I can recall.   Weird 🤔

Those little Japanese beetles almost completely defoliate my Lindens some years.  Those big ones might be the death of them...

The big ones around here have a iridescent glowing spot on their belly.     

Alien creatures that I don't think I've ever seen before.  

Had to sacrifice one to get a pic of it's underside.

The one I posted does. It's not a Japanese bettle either. A type of junebug. I have seen them devour a peach tree. I'm talking the fruit. As kids we caught them and tied light sewing thread on a leg. Powerful flyers we would fly them around.

Maybe they only hatch once in a while... like the cicadas.
