Gavin Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Get you some Gioia's hot salami on cheese garlic bread. Pair it with a bag of Red Hot Riplets (STL's best BBQ tater chip) and a cold beer (BYO). ness 1
ness Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 I'll never forget my first experience with The Hill. We were doing a long weekend trip with young kids to StL to see the zoo, Magic House, Arch etc. A friend of mine grew up in the area and he recommended Zia's. We were in the minivan heading down Kings Highway (this was pre phone/GPS). I turned off KH and quickly realized I had gone the wrong way, so I turned onto the first street to get going back. There was some crazy guy in a car going round and round in circles in the street. He eventually stopped, so I proceeded forward and he turned toward the side of the minivan. I punched it and got out of there but we were shook. We gave up on the Hill and ate at Bob Evans next to the hotel. Terrierman 1 John

Terrierman Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I interviewed with a bunch of wops - last names all ending in vowels - for a job at Union Electric in the 1980's. They took me to lunch at Cunetto's and I must not have screwed it up too bad as they hired me for the best job I'd ever had. At the best restaurant I'd ever been in for Italian. No idea at all if it is still there. Then, it was among the best of the best

Good quality old school Italian at a fair price. Terrierman 1

Now that I think about it, that started with Covid and we just never rebounded I guess. Love Cunettos! Terrierman 1
