I watched it and it was interesting. Used to watch the "Fishin Hole" and one show, Jerry said he was going back to his old stompin grounds- the Castor River near Marquand. Father in law at the time had some property on it and we fished it often. Good memories!

The story gets a little sappy but I love the  old Jon boats and the float trip stories. I guess I also feel a little sappy watching this, me and a bunch of you guys grew up with this stuff. My fascination with fishing started with a neighbors Ranger boat and his gigantic tackle box.

His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Awesome. I will have to watch after work. I booked a guide trip with Cranor's for April. Looking forward to it and hoping to land a trophy Brown!

I'm 63 and my family had a resort on Norfork near Gamaliel when I was a kid.  We started fishing down there then.  Although the resort was on the lake we primarily fished for trout on the tailwaters since my dad was a fly fisherman.

Not sure. I was not even aware there are multiple guides to be honest.

Cranor is basically a trout guide pimp.  He has a bunch of guides that work for him.  He is an excellent guide too though.

Lol. Well, I am hoping for the best. 8-hour trip in late April. I know they are famous for long-arming, but if I could catch multiple fish over 20 inches, I will be thrilled. 2-foot Brown Trout is what I am really praying for.
