Ryan Miloshewski Posted Tuesday at 01:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:16 PM Been busy tying for customers, myself, and just to kill time during this bad weather. Playing around with color combinations with DnDs and Slug-Os. Threw in a Boogie Man, too. My favorite articulated streamer is the DnD (with the Slug-O a close second). The way it darts and cuts through the water really replicates the action of a jerkbait--as long as you don't do the normal, fairly worthless strip, strip, pause when retrieving it. Work the rod tip! Anyway, need to get some recon and see which colors work. Here are some samples. Also, I have found deer belly hair to be the best for the wedge heads. You can use body hair, but you really need a lot and need to pack it super tight. nomolites, kjackson, ness and 8 others 11 “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold
Quillback Posted Tuesday at 02:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:11 PM Nice looking flies Ryan. The bass fisherman in me bets those would work on a Carolina rig for the lake smallies. Plain black, brown/orange, or green pumpkin orange. Ryan Miloshewski and BilletHead 2
fishinwrench Posted Tuesday at 08:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:27 PM You've done a very nice job 👍 Ryan Miloshewski 1
Ryan Miloshewski Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM Thanks, guys. I have come a long way over the years. Lot of failure! The thing I'm annoyed with is putting the eyes on. It makes them look a lot better to fishermen, but you get one good fish and there isn't enough super glue in the world that'll hold 'em. And they're expensive. But it's one of those things, I suppose. “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold
fishinwrench Posted Tuesday at 09:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:28 PM Not to deter anyone.....cuz everyone should do their own thing......but after 4 years of building and fishing articulates, I've quit. For streamers of that category the best producers FOR ME have been nothing more complicated than an extended strip of rabbit fur behind a fat head that pushes water. They suspend better, have plenty of action.....and they get eaten more frequently. Even the revered Game Changer doesn't get eaten as well.....for Me. FishnDave 1

You really can't beat a lunch money or a single Boogie Man. But I do like tying the articulated ones. It's like my yoga..very zen. I also hate game changers. Never had a fish look at one. FishnDave Posted Tuesday at 11:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:22 PM I've had amazing success with game changers. But I haven't fished them much the past few years, as I haven't target bass for some time. Might have to see what Bowfin think of them this year...
