The wife and I got a new travel trailer late last year with Fall being very busy for us it went into storge early.  I'm now facing the harsh reality with spring approaching if the camper goes the boat stays at home.  We are looking at Kayaks and have used outfitters in the past.  I also know the rivers and streams in early spring have the potential of being flooded or high water. We have done all the trout parks in Missouri and although I enjoy trout fishing we are looking for other RV camping Ideas in late March and early April with fishing possibilities without a boat.  Ideally, RV hook ups with river bank or shore fishing for any species as we are for the most part catch and release.    Spring white bass runs would be fun for the wife I'm just unaware of where we could go without my boat?  Thanks in advance for any and all info!

I've met rigs like this on the state highways near reservoirs;

Use your search engine to investigate the plausibility with your tow rig and trailers.

March is a little early for good smallmouth fishing. We tow a 32'. There are plenty of spots to visit. If your are looking for full hookups with sewer....Thinking HVO down by Bennett or Pinecrest on the Current. Avoid Echo Bluff. It has full hookups but the fishing stinks and CG is ugly. You might try Sunburst Ranch on the NFoW or Taney. Think there was an RV CG on the west side of the dam, but I have not been there in 30 years. Quarry Park on the Norfork down in Arkansas is a good RV CG. Depends on how you tow. I bumper tow so I can put my boats on my ladder racks. If you have a 5th wheel that is not an option.

Where are you located?  Would a camper run and setup then a boat run work.  A couple of friends of mine did that for years.  I was fortunate in that my wife could pull the boat while I pulled the 5th wheeler.

Thanks those are all great options!  We are pulling a 30' bumper hitch and my primary fishing boat is a 20' Seaark and is very heavy (not an option), however I did buy a 16' jon with a little 25hp for duck hunting and I am seriously considering double pulling it. I will have to get the trailer set up with a hitch I'm comfortable with and take it on a couple short trips close to home to see how everything pulls!  We are located in North Central Mo. so about every place I'm interested in going are in the Ozarks and 3 plus hours away!  We have been to Table Rock SP and below the dam on Tanney as well,  full hook ups are nice but not a must for us. Occasionally I get the urge to go Boondocking and get as far from people as possible, not sure the wife enjoys it quite as much as I do though! LOL

There must be towing forums that address the double pull set ups and what works or doesn't. There would be no backing up with  that,  every move would require a drive through with a turning radius.

I had a GF in high school whose dad had a setup like that. He could back it up just fine. I could not. I tried and tried but my brain couldn’t make it work.

If you are interested in Beaver Lake the Lost Bridge North campground is open, but I don't know if they have full hookups that early in the year. You could call the Beaver lake COE office to find out.   If you have kayaks there is a cove on each side of the campground that hold smallmouth, and if there's rain with runoff, the back ends of those coves could hold white bass and even a walleye or two.  If bank fishing you could drive down to the White river below Beaver dam for trout with a shot at whites and walleye, but it's mostly trout in the bank accessible areas.

That time of year, there's not a lot of other people out on that end of Beaver, there's not a lot of development on that end, and it's somewhat scenic, but the fishing can be tough.

It's kinda like backing up one the pivot axle horse trailers of the 1950s or a farm wagon, it can be done and even trains of three with enough practice, but my experience is that very few accomplished it. These trailers could be pulled behind a Cadillac though.
