Get rid of these Invasive Trees!!!

I read that in a press release the other day. I agree fully. Like anything deemed to be invasive. Funny how those trees were promoted years ago as good. Just like the autumn olive sold by the conservation department also now an invasive. 

When I was a boy scout the MDC partnered with our troop, and they had us planting Bradford pear trees all over our town.   😅 

Hauled them in on flatbed trucks, and provided shovels, rakes, and gloves.

I worry that some day in the future they'll find out that creating & stocking hybrid stripers was a "mistake".......and it will be too late to reverse it.

       Time will tell. It's beyond our control. Quit letting it get under your skin and catch,kill and eat them. Maybe someday they will have a bounty or a trade in like the callery pear. Bring one in and get a crappie in trade. 😆

Each year there are more and more of these things around here. This year seems to be the worst I've ever seen by a bunch. The office park where I work has them planted around the campus, and they have expanded to the frontage road, highway edges and undeveloped areas nearby like crazy. There are several spots I drive past regularly near where I live that are currently white forests. Crazy, and it will only get worse. 

Does anybody else think this year is the worst ever by a large margin?

Based on my observation, people have wised up to those trees around here.  I don't see any being planted.  New trees planted around the trails and roadways tend to be redbuds, willow oaks and maples.

The area around me was developed 20+ years ago. I haven't been by any newer developments this week to see if they're still planting them. I hope not. It does seem like a lost cause here.

@ness Driving from KC to Springfield last weekend they were everywhere down around Deepwater, and Osceola. Especially along all the bridge areas. 

I've always wondered if if anyone would get in any trouble for getting out there on some public ground and just going to town with a chainsaw.

Yes it is a big mess. Right now they are standing out like a diamond in a goats arse. Actually some here are leafing out an flowers a waining. When those are gone I'm afraid people will forget and not worry until next spring.

I have neighbors I want to sneak in and go samurai on those trees!
