I don't think I saw  anything new there.  I thought it was always known that the ethanol laws were in place to enrich certain politicians or their friends.

Regardless of how fuel is blended, there are going to be pro's & cons to that blending method.

As someone who is inside engines, almost daily, and has been for over 40 years........ I can honestly say that ethanol blended fuel has resulted in way fewer deposits left behind than there used to be back before it was used.   I can't even remember the last set of "STUCK RINGS" I've seen, and that used to be a predominant thing.   Ditto for the big chunks of carbon buildup inside of exhaust ports.   You just don't see that anymore 👍   And when was the last time anyone complained about "FOULED SPARK PLUGS"?

Sure, the shelf life of fuel is definitely shorter than it used to be.    In my particular field of work, there is as much "fuel' getting pumped out and thrown on the ground.....as there is getting burned.....And guess what?  80% of what gets discarded won't even kill weeds. 🙄 You certainly couldn't say that about "Old school fuel" that turned into gummy terpentine when it got old.

And some rubber based compounds fail sooner when exposed to ethanol blended fuel......but what would you rather have to replace?    Hoses, O-rings, & diaphragms.....or PISTONS ?  😉

I used to piss & moan about it......but I've learned to appreciate it.  😊 Engines run just fine on it,  if it's reasonably fresh, and it burns extremely cleaner.
