More predicted on the way. The Galena gauge is only showing a slight rise. So far. But sometimes the gauges lag behind quite a bit. Thx for the update!
Quillback Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Didn't rain much here today, when I looked at the radar this morning this area was in a dry doughnut hole, surrounded by rain. snagged in outlet 3 1
Dutch Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 So far it isn’t coming up much. But if Flat and James are flooding then it will. We had 2” last night and this morning. snagged in outlet 3 1
Terrierman Posted May 24 Posted May 24 It rained hard here all night and most of the day today. We went out for lunch and to walk the dogs. Finley river came up five feet - maybe more - while we were in town. Folks were getting their vehicles out of the lower parking lot at the Ozark Mill restaurant. Staff there were getting everything they could out of the lower level of the restaurant. At least one car was floating in the parking lot south of the 14 bridge. We watched the lot go from dry to completely flooded in about 15 minutes. I've seen a lot of flooding in my life, but never was present for anything rising so fast. Of course, Riverside Park and Riverside Road are completely flooded. Haven't heard if 125 has water on it - but it's a distinct possibility. Edit: 125 is closed at Linden. Had to go look. snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 1 1

I was on the meramec a couple years ago right at little Indian creek. I was casting my way back to the ramp. I heard and saw a huge mud surge coming down little Indian. It had rained south of me and I didn’t give it a thought until I saw it. I hightailed it down to the ramp and just got my boat out when it reached the ramp. Within a few minutes it was a raging muddy debris torrent. Crazy! Greasy B and Quillback 2

I've seen it raise 3' in about 3 minutes. Smallish creeks that flow a long distance can do that. Folks that live along Gravois Creek have said that they have seen walls of water come busting down the creek, but I've been here for almost 40 years and I've never witnessed it.
