straw hat Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Well, I know that no one posts here anymore (LOL), but I am going to. Water temp 88 to 90F. Everything a deep green with at most 2 foot visibility. I have never seen water temps this high before. Marked some fish on sonar but very uncooperative. Fished 9 hours and the two of us caught 6 crappie. With the cost of minnows being so high I figured that those 6 crappie were worth around $7 each. I hope all of you are doing well. Daryk Campbell Sr, Lloyd, Bass Yakker and 5 others 7 1
Quillback Posted August 23 Posted August 23 LOL, yeah dang minnows are almost charged as if they were made of gold. Heck, the local baitshop now wants $4.50 for a couple dozen redworms. Johnsfolly and straw hat 2
Heretolearn Posted August 24 Posted August 24 It was very slow again yesterday - unless you wanted channel cat, but a beautiful day on the water. Water temps were a few degrees cooler as well. Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and Quillback 3

MrGiggles Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I still lurk. Just hardly get a minute to go to the lake anymore. Last outing on 8/10 was pretty tough and the storms pretty well wrecked the evening. Popped up out of nowhere and dumped on me for over an hour. The one before that on 7/27 was better, 5 walleye but only one keeper. Jigging raps. Bunch of whites too. You guys complain about live bait prices, donate a couple of those $9 jigging raps and see how you feel. 🤣 BilletHead 1 -Austin
waterpossum Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Glad to see your still out and a out. After the format change to this site participation dropped significantly. I rarely view it since no one adds much content. Same thing happened to one of my razorback sites. I think what administrators fail to comprehend when changes are made is their members are mostly 60 plus years old. straw hat 1
MrGiggles Posted Wednesday at 12:56 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:56 AM Went out on the afternoon of 9/17. Skunked, started out hot and still, but a front blew in and switched things up a bit. Water temps 83/84. Went out again on the morning of 9/21. Only managed to scare up two keeper crappie. No walleyes. Water temps down around 76/78 already, dropping fast. straw hat and dan hufferd 2 -Austin

I can get a jigging spoon loose 99% of the time, that's what I go with. Johnsfolly 1

I have been using the smaller ones a lot in the winter time for crappie fishing, they work pretty dang well, get to deep water quick, just don't get too close to the brush pile. I bought a bunch of the blanks from this site a couple winters ago, pretty simple to paint up a simple black/silver shad color scheme. I figure with a good treble, I'm in them for about $3 each. Unfortunately they don't have them in my preferred size for summer walleye. https://www.lurepartsonline.com/2165-Gliding-Jigs-5pk -Austin
