Quillback Posted January 23 Posted January 23 That's awesome Ness - great pics! I regret not taking many pics back in my bird hunting days. ness 1
Quillback Posted January 23 Posted January 23 BTW - Still seeing blue sky here. It's a big hoax created by the weather forecasters. No way will it snow. Terrierman 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 23 Root Admin Posted January 23 There's still time to get over here and enter the fishing tournament tomorrow! We still have 7 teams fishing. Quillback 1
Al Agnew Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Floated the Yellowstone once in a blizzard. Well, we hadn't planned on it being a blizzard. It started out to be a pretty good fishing day. Then the wind picked up, and the Yellowstone in that area flows NNE, which is exactly which direction the wind was blowing from. Started snowing. Wind by that time was blowing about 30 mph, steadily. River was low. The only way you could make headway against the wind was to put your back to it and row hard. There were three of us, but one had no idea how to row. So the two of us would take turns, 15 minutes of rowing then switch. When we'd switch, the rower would have snow caked on his back at least an inch thick. Had to be one of the miserable days of "fishing" I've ever had. Quillback, ness, ColdWaterFshr and 1 other 4
jdmidwest Posted January 24 Posted January 24 They gave it a name today, the storm is called "Fern". No fiddleheads popping yet.... snagged in outlet 3 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
ColdWaterFshr Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Wintertime on the river is the best. Many single digit nights and lower spent on the 11 point and Current . . . .floating through some blizzards and some right after a big weather event. Here are a few memories. I wish I was down there now. Greasy B and Quillback 2

If you got chainsaws, good bourbon, and the right gear . . . . it ain't so bad. I've had better nights sleep at home though, I can't lie. Easy to look at these pictures and think it was great, but I remember some suffering. ness, Quillback and Greasy B 3
Quillback Posted Saturday at 11:33 AM Posted Saturday at 11:33 AM 10 degrees in NWA this morning. Only 2-3 inches of snow so far. I'm not even thinking of going fishing, but I might watch a couple of fishing shows. snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 2
