Doing the basketball thing again

I'm playing in the MBA tournament - that's MBA. Masters Basketball Association.  Coral Springs, FL.

We're 2-0 so far.  Tomorrow's game will be our first challenge.  To my left is John "Boo" Rice who played in the real NBA.  He's real fast!

That's really cool.  Good luck down there.  Inwant to take a week or so and fish the Everglades and random ditches down there.   Gonna have to be a trip without the family though.   They wouldn't be nearly as interested.

Me too! I tore the labrum in my right hip playing a pickup game with grandson. I was 65 at the time.

Yeah, I'm recovering from a partial tear in my Achilles right now.  Find out next week how it's going, been in a boot for 6 weeks.  If I get back to basketball, it's going to take me months to get back into shape to play.

Looks like you're 3-0, and blowing out teams by 20-30 points.  At quick glance I think it will be you against Indy All-Stars.

You missed out not playing in the alley behind our house with Dad. You pretty much had to draw blood to get a foul called. Dad was supposedly a better basketball player than baseball player with scholarship offers from Murray State and Mizzou.

New pic.  We picked up Steve who flew in yesterday from DC.  His daughter birth his first grandchild so he's late to the tournament.

We beat a good team this morning.  We play the defending champs tomorrow at 10 am eastern.  Indy.

Ironic thing.... I played my first "old man tournament" in 2021, just after covid.  It was in Indianapolis, and  we played this same time - alot of the same players.  And they beat our pickup team real bad.  Ran us to death.  We'll see tomorrow.

Confession - I played in the first 2 games.  The last 2 games, not so much.  These guys are really way out of my league,  and since I haven't played organized ball, I'm all thumbs on the court.  It's fun.... but I'm not going to take credit for the job these guys are doing.  I'm just bless to be able to play and be here.

That part about " ran us to death" would be a major concern for me.
