Never owned a Legend, but have owned a skeeter for about 6 years. Nice ride and quality, also love that it doesn’t have to come with a merc. Good luck, both sound like great boats.

Got the boys out this morning for a little fishing at a neighborhood pond. I might have to head back with the long rod this evening.

Limit is 5 a maramec. New this year

Might have a few more than normal fish above fall creek for the tournament.

Tried it a few years ago practicing for one of Phil’s tournaments. Caught a few but did not give it much time. I tied some up using that shammy leather stuff as well. They hold color from a sharpe pretty well if you want to experiment with different colors.

I should be down there for the morning. I’ll look for you. I think I would recognize you from some of the trout tournaments. Any idea if they have any flooding? The meramec near my house in Eureka looks pretty bad.

Show Me Catfishing with Capt. Ryan. It can be a little pricey but he puts on an awesome trip and will get you on some nice fish. Here is a 54 we caught on a trip with him in 2015.

I got out Thursday evening for an hour and Friday/Saturday/Sunday mornings for about an hour each. I had my 3 year old son and 73 year old dad in the boat so the trips were short. Trolled between points B5 to B7. Picked up 14 crappie total (all keepers but one), 7 white bass, 9 walleye (2 keepers), a hand full of short bass, and a bluegill. The crappie and whites were out deep in the middle or mouths of covers. We would mark a lot of bait and larger fish usually below. The walleye were primarily in 15 to 20 feet, manly on the bottom. Pulled Flicker shad, Flicker minnows, shad raps, and a few other random crankbaits. Flicker shads in the size 7 with chartreuse and/or red in it produced the best. All fish released. Spoke to one guy who was doing really well dropping minnows over brush piles, but besides that everyone I spoke to was having to work hard for their fish.

In the park can be a little crowded to fly fish especially on a weekend and in the mornings. The afternoon is lighter. If I were strictly fly fishing I would work the area just outside the park where the two rivers converge. The evenings there will have a little dry fly action as well. I hope you enjoy it and don't get too frustrated with all the floaters and cheese chuckers. For flies, it's a trout park so glo balls and shammy worms always seem to do okay.

Yeah, that's him. Hopefully he got into a few like you did. If not, I can give him a hard time next week.

Stl County Park Lakes been any good recently?
sms_alum replied to Haris122's topic in Other Ozark Lakes
Lewis, if you search through some of the Meramec threads there is a lot of good info on the lower part of the river in Fenton, Eureka, Pacific. Most creeks in the south and West part of the county lead that direction. These creeks are always changing so look at google maps, its been 20 years since I have walked them. -
I have a work friend down there this week. I believe he in mainly fishes the long rod. BRL is a special place, I hope they never change it.

Depending on where you live in STL there are some great river access points and creeks to fish. You are right about the neighborhood ponds and lakes. I put a lot of time walking in South County and there are good places if you search hard enough. Don't get discouraged, one day you'll have a boat and the resources to fish anywhere but not the time. Enjoy the searching, it makes the reward of catching nice fish that much better. -
Went last week in the afternoon for a few hours. The water still had a little color to it, not as clear as I remember. Caught them on the usual, trout worms, jigs and rooster tails. They still are stocking some decent sized fished but there are plenty of dinks as well. I went in the afternoon, but I was astonished how empty it was and in the places were fish stack up.

Destin bay or inshore recommendations

Sorry guys, nothing to report on the trip. My son had some medical issues the day we were supposed to leave and we ended up spending 5 days in the hospital. He is doing much better now but we are still waiting on several test to see why he developed this version of anemia at such a young age. Our condo complex was nice enough to cancel our trip and move the already paid funds to next year on the same dates. Hopefully I can get him out in the boat once he gets the clear from the doctor. -
I go with Crocs. They are light, comfortable, and dry immediately. They do take on rocks like everything else but they are on/off with rocks out in seconds. Plus it's one of few pieces my 3 year old and I both wear. Also, a great boat shoe since they don't leave marks on anything.

Destin bay or inshore recommendations

I'm staying less than a mile from Pampano Joes and Crab Trap. Looks like I may be loading up a bass rod as well. Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. Unfortunately I won't be traveling with a kayak but I will get out and do some wade/surf fishing. A buddy of mine recommended Tony Eddins in Pensacola beach for a trip so I think I will try to book him as well. Hopefully I'll have some pictures for you guys in about a month. Thanks again. -
I headed to Destin with my family the first week of June. I have never done an inshore or bay trip and would like to. Plus my nephew has gotten seasick the last 4 years we went snapper fishing. Any recommendations for a guide let me know, thanks.

Maybe you can provide pictures. That part always was missing from ole Trav's posts.

We had 25 keepers in a few hours Sunday evening and Monday morning. Only a few dinks. We caught a few shallow, but most seem to be hanging deep still. All on jigs, my buddy was dunking minnows for a while but didn't do well. One thing we noticed was if you caught one they were usually stacked up there. Camdenton near the highway 5 bridges. Fishing this weekend near the dam so not sure what that will be like with the colder weather coming.

Not sure if I'm rooting for them to finish in 1st or get 2nd in the central. If Crawford is still out and Keith gets a lengthy suspension like everyone is calling for it could be a nice first round match up with Chicago. Definitely making sure I have access to FSMW for any spring fishing trips. I'll be drinking the cool aid right with you.

Good to hear Van Hooks is still around. That was the first place that ever sold me beer, and minnows of course.
