  1. I just covered the strawberries and maters. Apples, praches, cherries and pears all are already set and fruit growing I can't do anything for them. Plus I am on top of the hill so I will take the risk, won't be the first time if I lose.
  2. Yep A10s are common here. Occasionally you hear a B2, has a different sound, and once in a great while you see one.

    What's Cooking?

Two elderly women were out driving in a large car. Both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself “I must be losing it, I could have sworn we just went through a red light.” After a few more minutes they came to another intersection and the light was red again and again they went right through. This time the woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous and decided to pay very close attention to the road and the next intersection to see what was going on. At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was definitely red and they went right through and she turned to the other woman and said, “Mildred! Did you know we just ran through three red lights in a row! You could have killed us!” Mildred turned to her and said, “Oh, am I driving?”

    What's Cooking?

I think you would be fine, the odds of us actually making it there would be pretty slim.

    What's Cooking?

Oh yeah they still have a hold on me. Much reduced though. I wouldn't take off on a trip without a driver. Oneshot, you busy?
  6. Well that's a load of crap! Sorry too easy to pass up.

    What's Cooking?

Reckon my wife would notice if I just sort of disappeared for a few hours? But it would taste better if I "stole" it.

    What's Cooking?

If I was close I would come by and steal some bok choy!
  9. If you can't add any seasoning I would.say that trout probably have more fishy flavor than most, but that ain't a good thing. Lots of seasonings that don't have salt in them. Use a light non.salt.seasonin mix like lemon pepper and dill and.grill them. The radiation does wash out taste buds i hear.

    Dehydrator?

They are the best thing for jerky. Fruit ain't bad but.it.never quite tastes.like you think it will.

    Dehydrator?

Dehydrator works well if small enough amount and/or have the time. Since you mentioned berries, if you have strawberries you will have more time in dehydratin thm than you will making then into Freezer Jam. I have made a lot of freezer jam and will.make many more, (God willing and the creek don't rise). Fresh, slicked and frozen, or into freezer jam arw pretry much what we do with them. Now when kids were little if you wanted to bribe one, just pull out a bag of whatever dried fruit you wanted to and it was ON. Apples, berries, pineapple, hell it didn't matter. I think we ran a dehydrator for.3 years straight it seemed.
  12. When I started my grandson I simply bought him a cheaper Pfleuger, rhink n it was a Trion, and a lightweight spinning rod. Never looked back and never tried any other type. Took him a bit to get the hang of it but make practice fun and roll on.
  13. The walleye fishery had been much better in past years. Of course I haven't been able to try for them this year at all.
  14. Having cancer I will happily hang onto and keep visiting my doctors. Including 1 Multiple Myeloma specialist and his whe.team of I think 7. My orthopedic oncologist who just built me a new shoulder and upper arm, my Hematologist and I think radiation doctor. Heck I will even keep my GP and I never see them again for treatment we will all count it as a raging success. (LOL unless its because i died)Never thought of trying the bananas when I was first diagnosed. Did eat a lot of them goin through transplant as they are a decent source of potassium and they do still like bananas when your body suddenly decided to violently expell them for no good reason, and that is better than plain old puke flavor.
  15. Me too. I do remember during my bone marrow tranaplant at KU there were a lot of hot young nurses, I also remember some older rougher looking ones, I love thwm ALL.
  16. Kind of had to walk around altitle today and shake my head at.the strawberries,.maters, pepper etc that took a viscous beating frim the hail. Didn't look closely at peach and apple trees, can't do anything about them anyway.
  17. I know the local slaughterhouse is going full tilt, booking dates are months in advance. I remember when there were several people.who did on farm butchering to whatever level you wanted. Completed packed and stacked in freezer,,or just dead and skinned. Most of thm were; kill-skin-break down into quarters. Folks wanted to save $ by doing final cut, wrap.themselves. first time we didn't have a grinder, so no burger, but lots of stew meat. Whatever wasn't in one package was going to be in another. Right now wouldnt be a good time for me but I bet with a little coaching I could walk my son and daughter through butchering a beef, hog, sheep or chickens. Toughest part would be having a big cooler, freezer space would.be easy enough.
  18. If the choice is Shingles or a non fatal bullet wound, please shoot me. Been there done that with Shingles. Don't remember any issues with the vaccine, either shot though?
  19. May have to try it again. For some reason really sore and hurting this morning. Likely from combination of too much moving yesterday, unstable weather, and sitting in one place for so long, plus it always seems there are times in healing process where things just ache as they work on repairing themselves. Now if I can avoid that once or twice a day event where I somehow get that shoulder in a twist or bind that feels like it is coming apart and there is no way in which it doesn't hurt, that would be good. LOL haven't had that truly ALL GOOD day yet but it's a coming!
  20. Yep.I have used CBD oil for some things.but since surgery was on Thursday last week, its.gonna need some heal time first.
  21. Well I tried it with Scotch. Enhanced it if anything.
  22. Well my wife turned her back for a moment and.I slipped out to the shop and got the, tractor out. Made a slow.check of pasture and fence. Tally 3 whole.trees, one of which took fence with it, 3 tops that are big as trees and one wife's deer stand all fell to the laws of physics un yesterday's 1-2 storm punch. butt is most sore after the.chewing it got when i made it back to house, completely worn out and looking for a pill. 😲 At least I will have some wood to cut up this fall.
  23. I have always been going to save some crappie fillets and cook them down to make a fish broth to do with my jambalya but I've never done it
  24. It was a brutal storm here and there was two of them one before and then and one afternoon about 1 or so lots and lots of wind going both directions Hale hard rain they're still working on clearing some of the roads and stuff to put in power lines back up but I was at for maybe 30 seconds so I can't complain
  25. Someday I'm going to splurge and come to the Rock strictly on a smallmouth fishing trip I love them things
