  1. I had to make a quick run to walgreens in Bolivar and there was noticeably less traffic but by no means was empty anywhere I was. Just seemed like a slightly slow day.
  2. Pony Express hasn't made it here yet. Or option B it came and we tossed it without looking at it.
  3. That's cool, never thought of a 3D printer version.
  4. Loved the swan.creek area when I lived in Forsyth. Not so much for white bass but for wade fishing later in the year.
  5. I used to have a bunch of those type hots that I used for safety meetings. At least one of the back hoe in a train car one, the back hoe had some modifications made to it specifically for "mounting" railroad cars. Still I aint that good of an operator and never will be.
  6. As log as they are willing to move forward so am i.
  7. I still have that one in a journal
  8. It was almost 5 years ago that I had my Bone Marrow Transplant. My wife is the pushy, cute, annoying and obnoxious nurse/advocate. Ono logistics in SPFLD was talking about doing some spot radiation on the spot they found on a rib next to my spine. Not sure what will be the direction now. Anything g they can.do to alleviate the shoulder pain would be a good start but all that remains to be seen at this point. Hell I may be all used up and not smart enough to know it yet. But I plan on a few more crappie trips etc. before I am done. This COVID 19 virus is going to throw a monkey wrench inot things I suspect.
  9. High wate sprigs always make for good spawns. Most of the area lakes habe a fabulous population of crappie right now. As for them toothy critters, well me and them have a love/hate relationship, they love to take my shad raps and I hate it when they do.
  10. I like your version of the future!
  11. For all intents and purposes this is pretty much new territory for everyone. Each authority that makes the call has different rules likeshopping, essential workers, Dr apps etc.
  12. Just got results from MRI, good news is there doesn't appear to be any tearing etc.of the rotator cuff. Bad news what they did find is a large lesion on the humerous, related to my Multiple Myeloma. So no surgery can fix it, now I guess onto the next step which is a referral from my oncologist in spfld to an Osteopathic Oncologist, likely in KC where I had my Bone Marrow Transplant. No clue at all how this is gonna work out with all the shut down for COVID 19, effing disease is gonna get me one way or the other it seems. Sorry just a little bit "down" at the moment.
  13. Hell my well went down today. One leg of the pump is drawing way too much. K new it last summer but it had decided to work so we kept on going. So far the worst I have had to do is rest it and left the low pressure cutoff switch to let it build enough pressure to hold. Unfortunately with only one arm working and the other one screaming in pain at every movement it wasn't gonna be a fun job, thankfully my neighbor was out at the end of his property and saw me with the well house top off and came over, he was able to do it for me. Maybe I have a little bit of good karma built up over the years. Gonna get an MRI tomorrow on shoulder and go from there. I really really hope they don't say yep we know what's torn and van fix it, but we aren't doing any outpatient surgeries for the next 60 days, if that is the case I will be a pain pill addict before it's fixed. Never realize after all the years of being able to do anything you need to that it can be taken away in the blink of an eye. Fortunately I do have plenty of ammo, meat, and whiskey to see me through for a while.

  15. Yes it is weldable. Will need to cleaned well to clean steel and welded by someone who knows what they are doing. After its welded coat it with a rust preventive coating. Should be able to get a few more years out of it, unless the metals is thin and in bad shape.
  16. It's inflation reading it's ugly head. A century is only worth about 24 years now

    What's Cooking?

Unsurprising that I am the guy who thinks the bit of seared fat is some of the best stuff, sort of a natural joint lube.
  18. It helps when you know your area, where my wife "hunts" I have measured the various distances and longest would be about 125 yards, her little .243 is dead on at 100 yards, and when she occasionally gives me the rifle messed up is why I missed (very rare any more) I simply put the rifle over a bench and I have a big hay bale 60 yards away. 2 quick shots will tell the story.

    What's Cooking?

Dang it I was happy that FW didn't put up a pic of the tuna casserole. There are few things in life I despise more than tuna casserole. I truly like all the ingredients separately but together nope, and I aint afraid to admit it. However if I can get my wife to do some mixing for me I am wanting to make some fry bread, or Navaho flat bread, heard it called many things. Bi I plan to make mine with lots of garlic. Supplies here ain't bad, have a freezer full of meats, big sack of taters, some onions etc. I also have a couple beef tongues I need to boil and smoke up.
  20. I need to dig out my old pellet rifle, maybe I can shoot it left handed. Surely my son left some small plastic crap toys around here.
  21. JD well there are standards but certainly no absolutes. The MPBR is an example, one which i obviously have never agreed with. A good 30--30 load shouldn't be much different at 50 than 100 but will drop faster as the distance grows for sure. FW on most scope 4 clicks is very measurable, should be 1/2 inch at 50 yards as most scopes are one click to a quarter inch at 100. I guess I am assuming perfect dead center windage adjustment. Which is most certainly more noticeable at longer ranges, you are correct there. All that aside a .30-30 sighted deadon or 1 inch high at 50 will easily hit within the kill zone at 100. Assuming the shooter does their part correctly and the rifle is accurate enough to begin with. I have had rifles that with some loads would have a 4 inch group at 50 yards, but give it a load it likes and it suddenly made beautiful small groups at 100. For some guys it is almost witchcraft what they can do, I left that behind years ago when I realized I just wasn't good enough for that level. Good enough is still good enough. 9 times out of 10 a miss is due to the shooter, too many times with family members or at special hunts I have seen shooters lament the inaccuracy of their rifle, or the scope must have gotten bumped, quick trip to a range shows it is shooting perfectly. I have also seen hunters show up with a rifle they have used before but with a new unopened box of wonder bullets that often don't impact any where close to where their original ones did. I am enjoying a little shooting related stuff this time of year.
  22. FW I just re-read your reply. You are talking about Windage i.e.left/right yes? Shouldnt change unless there is a crosswind or something else is affecting it. Or am I missing something here, which is quite possible as I am enjoying some decently good pain meds right now.
  23. You have been reading too many baloney articles about Maximum Point Blank Range. Sight it in at the most common distance to be dead on, test fire it at your longer range and sleep well at night. Way back when I didn't think twice about long range shots and shot a 7 Mag the dead on at 100 yards and know a little bit about the ballistics left a bunch of critters kicking in the dirt. 50 to 100 yards the difference in drop is gonna be less than the human factor for most people.
  24. Sight it in dead on at 50 yards or an inch high and never think twice about it again.
  25. The local school wherey wife is a school nurse is 100% free lunches. The churches work together, (which is more of a miracle than I like to admit), to send backpacks home with many of them. We used to drop off christmas groceries that included turkeys etc., but stopped because we discovered that most of those types of foods were left to rot and they had zero idea what to do with it. A local grocery store went out of business because the good food stuff they sold at a decent price was ignored for packaged chips etc. from Dollar General. I would love to have a way that people would have to prove they had a clue before being allowed to reproduce.
