  1. I would form a PAC who's only mission would be to get the state governments out of the numbers racket. Where's the bunko squad when you need it.
  2. I can't imagine a better swamp boat than a Mud Buddy.
  3. I'm glad your ok Scott, rest assured most of us have have been equally foolish at one time or another. As an outdoorsman if you haven't got yourself in a pickle now and then your either too dense to know it or have too much pride to admit it.
  4. Every cat I have known including the one I had for 18 years would just as soon kill me as give me the time of day. Any actions that might be perceived as affection was just a selfish attempt to satisfy its own quest for comfort, warmth and food.
  5. I don't get the joke and I'm proud that I don't.
  6. Wow, what a year, you've done well.
  7. No dam, thank goodness. ? Get out of harms way and let her flow.
  8. I'm seeing one or two units out of BS. Unless what I'm reading is incorrect the Newport gage is controlling. Looks like prime time for a trout trip, well at least until they open it up. If we have a normal winter and spring Bull may stay in flood until summer.
  9. A good attitude all things considered. Good luck with the clean up.
  10. Ha ha ha ha, one thing is for sure; that river in Illinois is a different animal than our local flow.
  11. Your too kind. In St Louis County there is a car museum in the flood plain, it's right down the road from the Lamborghini dealership. I could think of a word stronger than naive.
  12. Those are fine pictures of some very good fish. No selfies please.
  13. ?
  14. Maybe your question didn't get answered because there is no good answer. Most experienced anglers avoid the "run", spawning Browns are best left alone. There are many ways to target Browns and this forum is packed full of tips, you just need to read through what has already been said.
  15. No doubt this officer killed that young man. Maybe this is one step toward having a competent water patrol.
  16. Separating mixed recyclables is very time consuming and often done with primative machines that have magnets or puffs of air. People who throw used pizza boxes in the recycle bin often cause more expense than it's worth because they have to get picked out by hand, if there's too much cheese it goes in the trash anyway. Things that can't be easily separated probably aren't worth it.

    Winter Hoppers

I usually try to catch at least one on a hopper every thanksgiving weekend but with the around the clock rain this year I hardly changed flys. Nothing raises hatchery trout like a bobber, a few years back Dan made a some bobber flys but adding the hook put the fish off.
  18. Yep same here, I have dozens of flys in at least a dozen boxes and all I use for trout is the same three patterns. The more ragged they get the better they work.
  19. "When it gets fuzzy and half tore up, is when it gets good"
  20. I hope it never comes to that, i'm afraid it's just a matter of time.
  21. Thanks, we drove 300 miles, we have no choice we must fish.
  22. Thanks for speaking up Bill even if your preaching to the choir. Unfortunately Ham speaks from experience, things have improved but the old catch em at any cost culture is slow to change. Both fisheries suffer terribly from having so little artificials only water and both could use some help from management professionals to have a little grow in between the put and the take.
  23. Yes, these folks are sometimes right under our noses. Something as simple as an invite to dinner or slipping someone in need a 20 can make a world of difference.
  24. Roland what's his name ain't got nuthin on these dudes.
  25. Good luck JD, need you to bounce back so you can continue to not tell me where you catch those big Tennessee Smallmouth.
