  1. The girl with the slab could teach that guy how to hold a fish for a picture. That bass looks 6" long🤣
  2. Moss is still present. Some places you'd look down and just move on there wasa solid blanket of it. Other places would be clean or minimal. Can't say for sure but even if you can fish these areas they don't seem to hold fish.
  3. I posted this on computer uploaded pic onphone but never hit submit. Should be coming soon
  4. got to launch around 7:30 , found the cranking battery dead. my friend has a houseboat docked there. Made a call, hey mind if I borrow a battery for the day. Made the swich and we were on our way. fished some coves close by caugth a few , mix of all 3 types. Mostly buck bass. Headed down lake to look for smallmouth. found them in 6-9 fow gravel with some chunk rock. Not on fire but steady and all cookie cutter 2.25-2.5# 16-17 ". Had a couple push 3. Looked like thick healthy males. Wind was howling and it didn't matter where we went it found us. Finished up back in Indian creek where we could hide from the wind. Ended up with 40 total more than half were keepers. wonder what this next stretch of weather will do to them. caught eveything on Ned, green pumpkin and orange beat out plain GP. tried swimbait on points not a bite.
  5. Would think the WT would be higher. I was at stockton in lightly stained water 2 days ago and it was pushing 65
  6. Ok. I've put in there once or twice. Didn't know the history ,tornado and all.
  7. Where's Hartley? Your'e talking midlake, maybe an old local name. Your results seem similar to mine, can catch them but not going to fill a bag. I keep thinking those big one must be have completely different habits but I continue to throw in the same places.
  8. We fished out of SK last Thursdqy and Friday. Went upstream just short of Big M. first trip this year to the rock a that we actually seemed like we were on fish.Mostly on Kietechs on points probably around 10 ft nothing real deep. Mostly smaller but fat K's. Few smallmouth one big one around 3.5#, my scale must need a new battery would'nt work. Cove near launch had bait in it each morning. you could see the bass in the ball. caught several video fishing but again no size, but fun.
  9. no post lately whats up?

Late post. wEnt up prior to the rain. It was going to be windy but as @Targa98 it can be your friend. started at greenfield. Caught a small LM right offf the bat. continued north hittng points and windy banks without sucess. Ended up mid lake and a favorite spot caught 3, one 19" all on Rock Crawlers. Tried JB but I have no confidence in it so it rarely produces for me. Headed back south. Tremendous number of gull, pelicans and cormorants in birch branch. wEnt in bait all over the screen but couldn't find a bass. Ended up in turnback above 160, lots of folks. boats ,kayaks, bank fisherman. Nobody catching alot but some sucess. Caught 4 nice size males and 1 16" walleye on a flicker shad, white came on a jig. actully got alittle sunburn that day. Hopefully the rivers will come down and they won't Let Stockton get too high. Just went past 869ft

Amazing how spotlock lets you fish those windy points. In the past you'd be spending all your energy fighting to stay in place. Now it's like fishing off a dock

    What's Cooking?

Air to Plate on the corn goose. Hunting a large farm pond south zone. Hoped for more ducks but other athn early flyers saw very few but the geeese consistently kept coming. the younger fellow likes to shoot them and I'll as well. the 2 other hunters weren't as interested but when it was all that came by they unloaded as well.Think we were 1 short of our dozen and 1 unlucky gh. we al cleaned our birds but I told the father son team that I would do something with their birds. Had about 20 breast total. If it had skin I dry brined for 3 days and smoked. No skin corn brine for 7 days and then made most to pastrami which is just corned goose smoked. Vacum sealed 4 breast with some spices and a little goose. The smoker picture os everything I smoked one day. Everything got vacum saeled and I delivered their share back to them. The corn goose I sous vided for 6 hours at 160 degrees. Cooked the vegtables separate. goose tast just like beef ,texture is different and a bit tough. Cut it thin.

A little early but had a friend over the other night for StPatty's celebration. Corned goose along with the usual cabbage,potatoes.., and carrots.
  16. Flow is 2700 cfs down from a 10,000cfs recent peak. That would seem sufficent.
  17. gravel roads and boat trailers don't mix to well. That should keep the crowds down though.
  18. Any place to stay by the lake?
  19. You can find them anywhere, will they bite?
  20. Think with the amount of rain the area has got it may be more than a few days . Had one gentleman who lives near seneca tell me that you wanted to get down there just as it strarts to clear after the river peaks from rain. How many days after the paek I suspects depends on several factors. Would be nice to be close so you could check it easily.

Roles will be reversed when we take on whites with the long poles. Good thing is I get a chance too throw those gorgeous clousers that @BilletHead ties
  22. I know they catch them up the Kings in the spring. Any idea why they would favor that tributary over the James?
