  2. Talk about hitting the nail on the head.....
  3. Champ........ Amen to that and I'll add USE THAT KILL SWITCH it will save your life...........that's what it is for.....
  4. The Ned Rig will do the job for your kids and ladies. It is a real fish catcher.
  5. Whom ever you use for your prop repair make sure they have the proper tools such as pitch blocks so they can and will put the prop to factory specs. Eye balling just don't work when you are wanting the prop within the factory performance specs .....
  6. You also have to set your drag to slip slightly on a hook set so as to not rip the hooks out with braid. Braid line does not stretch, I use 100% braid 30lb test with a 6 or 7 ft fluorocarbon 15lb leader. Now if I get a wild hair and switch back to fluorocarbon or mono line I can really tell the difference in the stretch in lines. Mono and fluorocarbon feels like I am setting the hook with a spring for line, I always go back to braid..
  7. The Branson Landing BP store is more for the tourist and vacationers with plenty of clothes and such. If you want to go to that store and get any serious tackle you had better order it online and have it shipped to the store, that way you can get what you want/need if there is a trip to Branson planned in your future.
  8. I use Nanofil 10lb with a 8lb fluorocarbon Yo-Zuri leader with no problems. It casts great, comes off the reel great. No loops to cause problems like mono or fluorocarbon with their memory problems. The main problem is having the drag set too high not allowing slippage with our hard Hook sets. What you have to remember is that there is little to no stretch in Nanofil or any of the braided lines. So adjust your drag to slip slightly on a hook set. Also the type of rod action also comes in to play also with line size and type used. I have tried several brands of leader material and I feel that Yo-Zuri is the best I have used to date. I also believe that there is a difference between using just regular fluorocarbon line verses fluorocarbon leader material.
  9. My oldest warts have Wiggle Wart printed under the bill. I don't know when they were made. The others have Storm printed under the bill and they all catch fish.....
  10. I'll tell you what the 2 pro's used that I rode with and that was wiggle wart in a brown crawdad, jerk bait and a finesse worm. They caught a ton of short fish on all three lures.
  11. I rode with Boyd Duckett Thursday & Casey Scanlon on Friday and you are on the mark on the way they drive their boats. We ran to the upper White River and King's river it was wide open and hang on. I was thinking the same as you about wishing I had a seatbelt.
  12. I was there also and I drew Boyd Duckett, great guy can't hardly wait till tomorrow. Hope the storms hold off till late tomorrow evening but chances are we'll take off in the rain...
  13. I use Verizon, I find that they give me service in most of this state especially in SW Missouri. I have had AT&T and Sprint and Verizon beats them. Alltel used to be the best service for this area and Verizon bought them.
  14. I am over at Cape Fair (not too far from State Park as the crow flies) and it is cloudy, humidity is high, wind around 6 mph, feels like it could rain at anytime......
  15. SOLD .............Same as New no scratches dings or nicks. Does not come with a Flo-Torque hub. Check the pictures out and you will see the condition of the prop and of each blade. These Fury Props new and rebuild are selling for around $500.00 plus on EBay. I am asking $425.00 plus $25.00 if I need to ship by UPS. Contact: Phone/TXT 417-894-1344 Email: hekistner@gmail.com
  16. That's big government for you......
  17. I used to have a 350V with a 150 Evinrude all 1983 and I ran a 24 3 blade hooter and it would turn 6000 rpm running anywhere from 58 to 62 mph depending on load in the boat. My son has it now and is running a 4 blade 13-1/4 x 27 pitch at 5500 rpm running at about the same speeds as the 3 blade but with out the torque on the steering wheel. So either you tachometer is wrong or there is a problem in the boat because it should be turning high rpm with a 19 pitch prop wide open. Your throttle may not be wide open, could be out of adjustment or something blocking the butterflys in the carbs.
  18. Give Marine Repair a call at 417-833-9191 in Springfield, MO. They do Minn Kota and Motor Guide trolling motors.
  19. The Lew's reels are made in Korea along with 90% of all of the rests sold. I just purchased a Lew's Super Duty for my A-Rig setup and spooled it with 55 lb. braid stepped out in the yard for a practice cast and I'm going to like it. I have several Lew's reels they are the best reel made for the $$$$$. No way to go wrong with the Pro Tournament models.
  20. If your boat is/was registered in the state of MO then the numbers will stay with the boat. If you are moving from another state to MO. then you will have to register in MO. and get new numbers which are for this state along with the tag.
  21. Put all kinds of buoys, markers or flashing lights on them but if you are not watching where you are going then all is in vain. Or lets say no matter what you do someone will hit them if they get that close to the shore line.
  22. Well it is the old saying you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.....It is a simple law of this state and other states, some see fit to ignore this simple law so with that how many other laws are these same people ignoring. They will get warned once then fined and next their nice shining boat with their cool numbers will be sitting on their trailer with them wishing that they could put it in the water. Guys it is simple obey the law......and how many of you can sit in your boat and admire your license numbers and registration tag on the side of your boat????
  23. Well some people just have to learn the hard way regardless of what the state law is.
  24. You might check with the water patrol and/or the boating laws on what is acceptable before committing to what looks cool. They can be picky sometimes could save you problems later.
  25. Talk about a zoo, the upper James was more than a zoo with All of the spoonbill snagging going on. The Bridgeport ramp area parking was in the over flow and you had to slowly snake your way through all of the boats.
