  1. Saw lots of wrapped trucks heading that way yesterday. Ouachita is tough right now...very muddy. But if it clears up and stays high it could be a slug fest. Theres also two other smaller lakes that don't get much attention but can be outstanding at times. Lake Catherine which is below Hamilton and Lake Greeson
  2. Fin and feather in Springfield used to carry a beaver style bait. 25 pack for $5-6
  3. When a pure strain LM is bred with a pure strain LM, all that you can get is more pure strain LM.
  4. Instincts and experience based on what?Incomplete scientific research? Everyone uses the scientific method in some form or fashion...fisherman especially so, otherwise the fishing industry would be broke. Do fishermen not try to gain more information by trying different techniques? Sounds awfully scientific...and maybe it's called fishing not catching because it's incomplete science.
  5. Chris knew, yet his scientific research was incomplete until he set sail. Science, incomplete and complete predates all of us...
  6. Most Europeans believed the world was flat...long standing belief...Chris changed their minds Don't care to know everything about fish, but just to dismiss someone's hard work because it doesn't fit your mold of what you believe, isn't being too smart. It's ok if you don't want to learn about different behaviors of fish, but it's not your call to tell others what they should want to learn or not. If you fish, you're a scientist...it's called trial and error
  7. If each lake/river is unique, you might assume each fish is unique as well. Some go back home, some adjust to new area. The only way to have complete science is to continue to study the incomplete. There have been many long standing beliefs debunked by incomplete science. Some guy named Chris debunked one a long time ago based on incomplete science, the Earth really wasn't flat. You could easily assume that a "roaming hog" has been misplaced by a younger more aggressive bass, there are many reasons a fish might leave it's preferred area. This is why generalizations are made. I'm really hope your belief that incomplete science being worse than none is based on studies like these.
  8. Supposed to be announced today

    Graphs

I believe they are a valuable tool for those who have the time to take them out and learn how they work. For me if I have time to be on the water I'm fishing, not idling around looking at a graph. Just my preference... I do know a pro that grew up fishing in river oxbows that has taken the time last few years to learn ins and outs of graphs, and I believe that knowledge has made him a force on TVA lakes. He was never in contention before on those waters.
  11. Easy...wouldn't want to be considered as stirring the pot
  12. Seems every thread with more than a hand full of replies ends up to be about some dude named Ned who wears a jersey, can't operate a boat safely, and wants everyone to practice catch and release while he secretly eats a few keeper bass he catches...
  13. My hypocrisy only goes so far
  14. It's the logo, top left of the page.
  15. Interesting read in BASS this month "on the hook" page
