Used to be very confrontational as well, but had couple friends shot by jet skiers they argued with at a lake near Hot Springs several years ago. One of my buddies was carrying a pistol, didn't matter when the other guys were waiting on them. Neither friend was mortally wounded, and the shooters spent less than a year in jail. Not worth your life... Or even spending couple hours at hospital

Lodging, gas, food, etc for 250-300+ people in town for a week...That's just the participants, tour workers, media. Doesn't include visitors there to watch. Yeah millions would be a fair estimate

Didn't mean to down grade your opinion, my post should have been more of a question instead of a statement. I just don't understand why it's important to replace seemingly same wires... I have units ordered and would like to understand if the process of completely redoing the wires is worth the extra work. The difference in current units and replacements is the new internal GPS and down image. Know I have to install the DI transducer, but according to sales rep the wires are interchangeable.

Bill, I've been in process of upgrading. All humminbird models I've looked at have all the hardware needed, plus the wiring kits are interchangeable so theres no need for working from the battery.

If you decide to sell the chronarchs please let me know! Newer ones aren't the same. I have 5 that are almost 20 years old, have them cleaned professionally every year. Lots cheaper than buying new anything and they work flawlessly.

I use a 7' ML rod for top water and braid. Enough backbone to set hook long range and limber enough for short line bursts at the boat.

There's a dock owner in SE Ark that has a sprinkler system hooked up on his dock. Best crappie dock on the lake. When you get close he turns on the water...took a couple trips to realize all we needed to do was wear rain suits and keep on catching "his" crappie. Some reason those crappie tasted better than any other I ate!

I find it funny fellow Arkies still think the Hogs should/can be perennial football power. Misguided armchair QBs...having a 10 win season every 8-10 years is about the best they can hope for. I've used the tru tungsten stoppers and several bobber stoppers with all sizes and types of lines. Mono, floro, braid haven't found one that's better than other.... Hook up percentages go up exponentially from unpegged. Just like any other baits you need to retie more often when fishing the nasty stuff

Had no idea about the bad blood...they seem to be one of the hottest selling reels right now even without BPS. Roger... Wasn't comparing them to Walmart. You can multiply all the hate many on here have for BPS and it won't touch the hate I have for Walmart.....
