    Scuppper Woes

That stinks, you will have to plastic weld that. Would call up Ocean Kayak and see it they can supply some color match polyethylene and offer advice to repair it. Think Wilderness Systems sells poly welding rods, but they might not be a good color match. Good luck.
  2. Fish them under a float with a couple shot, just like a scud. Best color depends on water clarity, level, and available light. Worms are a great pattern when they generate, or anywhere when it rains enough to saturate the ground. You would be amazed at the numbers of worms that drown in my 16x32' in-ground when we get a heavy rain. Imagine the numbers that get washed off the shorelines. You can tie them on anything, also look up the megaworm & mop fly. No skill required other than winding thread clockwise and tying a half hitch or three.
  3. Great trip! Outstanding! Good for you guys!
  4. Jerry Jarosik's Japanese Beatle fly is a killer...Still have 2 dozen of his originals plus a about a dozen of his Humpy's. Basically foam, wrapped with peacock herl, 6 peacock herl legs, overbody of deer hair. Super killer flies, only break one out for a big picky riser.
  5. They probably got off on pissing you off. Break out the cell phone and call the cops if you see them again.
  6. Buy what you can afford in a boot foot wader and some decent boots. All waders leak, so buy a patch kit too. Isopropyl alcholol sprayed on the outside works great for finding pin holes & leaks.

    What's Cooking?

Ness, your BBQ was good and I apologize for calling it boiled. Thank you for dinner, thanks for joining us, hope we can call it bygones and do that trip again.
  8. Attended a conference there a couple years ago, The property really needs some work, rather dated. Not sure how that will proceed, but really don't care.
  9. Awesome Phil! Need to get back up there with the kids when they get a bit older.
  10. Wrench, my wife, and her BFF from KC took the kids to Pomme earlier this summer. They stayed in loop 200 at Pittsburg. No fishing, just tubing & kayaking. They really enjoyed it and want to go back. Plenty of electric only sites in the CG, but no sites with water or sewer hookups. Camp near a spigot, and bring long hose.
  11. There is no "Evergreen Police Department". It is just Steve Plaster and his hired help.
  12. Very nice Scott! Looks like a great time! My wife did a really cute Facebook video of our float on Friday but can't figure out how to link it.
  13. That Looks Familiar.
  14. That's a great fish no doubt! Good for you!
  15. Went down to a shallow overcrowded river in SEMO Thursday-Sunday. Nice drive on Thursday plus lunch at the Arcadia Academy. On site with plenty of time to set camp, and let the kids swim while the adults enjoyed several gravel bar cocktails before dinner. Family float on Friday. My friends son, and my two daughters did the whole 5-6 mile float on their little kayaks w/o incident. Not bad for kids under 10! We were very proud! Fishing was better than expected too. Lots of little rat smallmouth on 1/16 & 1/8 oz Ned's and a few better to 15" on top. Gals elected to gravel bar on Saturday while the boys floated & fished. Tons out Saturday but it did not seem to matter. We caught little rats everywhere we could sneak a cast in between other floaters, some nice fish too. One Hog!
  16. Probably other things. A coulple bags of fish, and some pills in the pic. Just loaded up, headed out for a multi family float/camp trip. One of the dads is a police officer, other a lawyer, other in Construction, I do accounting. All will be well.
  17. Will have to disagree, checkpoints are just fishing expeditions for random tickets and a form of harassment. Gestapo says provide your papers please.
  18. Could get more by tracking license plates and how often the stop and take a limit and return in any park zone.
  19. 23 tickets from 660 stop & searches? 3.5% yield on a revenue violation per stop. 637 vehicle operators & plus occupants hassled for no reason. Hard to call that a success.
  20. Glad you are OK! Usually replace our trailer tires every 3-4 years...Thanks for the reminder.

    What's Cooking?

Hope you did not put that in a crock pot. Your pork had a boiled meat taste on the piney trip. Did not mater because we were all drunk and hungry.
  22. nice haul! Looked on Monday but way to dry, have had two shots of rain in the past two days, but not that hot. Worth a look this weekend.
  23. Water is at 1.45' at Akers right now...Dead low is around 1' at Akers, and you will have to drag in some areas at that level. The stretch between Cedargrove & Akers will be very crowded on a Friday & Saturday.
  24. Would probably do Baptist to Akers, but pack light because you will have to portage over the Cedargrove bridge. Round Spring to Two Rivers would be another good float. Go Sunday-Wednesday to avoid the summertime crowds.
  25. Good times! Welcome back.
