  1. Brian Ellis is the only one I know of and he is very good. Bob Temper was in a wheel chair last time I saw. Craig at Hargrove's is pretty good and he gives lessons. I don't instruct casting or fly tying anymore.I've not been involved with Ozark since my 15 year old daughter was born. Matt Tucker is still around. He lives in Jeffco, and plays allot of golf at Fox Run.
  2. The charge seems fair for idiocy.
  3. @Seth think he’s a fan of spoonies & dipsy divers.
  4. Someone in your home requested those Covid tests and didn’t own up to it,
  5. There was an old publication called “Springs of Missouri” on MO DNR’s site. You can probably find it there and it explains allot.
  6. Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services puts out a fish advisory report every once and a while. I don't know if they test for those things, but they do test for stuff like Clordane, PCB's, Mercury, and Lead.
  7. Looks like a great hunt! Have been done since the big freeze before Christmas.
  8. There is no Whataburger in St. Louis, but we do have a Shake Shack, Meh....The only chain burger I really miss is In-N-Out from the years I lived in California. I head to the nearest In-N-Out for a double double animal style first thing whenever I fly out there.
  9. MDC has nothing to do with this. State Parks are MO DNR land. The worst bridge in that area is the 64 bridge over the Niangua. I'm surprised that has not fallen down yet, but that is on MO DOT.
  10. MDC & DNR supervisors are pretty dumb in terms of planning and maintenance . Regular maintenance is cheaper than parts and down time, but they don’t seem to know that.
  11. Just ordered some seeds from that Seed Savers place that Dave mentioned (before I forgot about it). Got some Thyme, Dark Opal Basil, Genovese Basil, Cilantro, Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans, Green Zebra Tomatoes, and some Cherokee Purple Tomato seeds on the way. Will see how it works out. Only $40.
  12. Thanks, it would have to be seeds, cuz a trip to Mansfield would cost 10x the price in just fuel!
  13. Just a few brown trout and rainbows so far. Usually have several smallies to hand by now but nope. Gotta go float when you can. It’s nice and warm, Duck season is over for me. It may be worth pulling the paddle jon out this weekend.
  14. So what are your favorite heirloom varieties? Where do you order the seeds?
  15. Check the river guage to see the CFS flow and river level. Add 6” of level and your probably fine.
  16. Glad to see you on the mend!
  17. I buy Simms, from T Hargrove. Tom and Craig, will get them patched up or sent in and let you know. I don't even need to think about it. Have 3 pairs, so no BFD if one or two are down for a bit. Think my oldest pair of Simms G3's are going on 10-12 years. Tom & Craig have patched them once or twice.
  18. A puglisi tie will outfish a clouser if they want shad
  19. I used to fish with GC, he showed me the how too. Need to call him,
  20. The Soarkleminnow works better than a Clouser Minnow or Wooly Bugger.
  21. Thinking of an Everglades trip for Tarpon & Snook, but nit sure if it has recovered. Maybe a lazy Canada trip to catch smallmouth, walleye, and pike now that the border is open.
  22. Sage has been really good about replacing sections for old graphite rods. Think they have all the old mandrels/specs and roll them if they need one.
  23. All my main rods are 4pc. Think it was less than $150 last time I ordered an extra tip when sent my old Sage SLT back for some warranty work. Love that rod, have fished it for 20+ years.
  24. I haven't bought a fly rod in years, but the three fly rods I use most often have 2 tips each, one has 3. You can order extras. All you have to do is ask. I like my rainshadow, and north fork composite spin & baitcasting rods..
  25. The test criteria is available online at Fly Fishers International. It’s very tedious to read,. It took my friend several attempts to pass it and he casts better quite a bit better than I do. Figure it’s like a mainstreet duck calling contest. Everyone runs a similar and difficult routine and the folks who make the fewest mistakes go to the final.
