  1. Gotta make that first cast count. Same motion just roll your wrist inward and continue on the down beat. Or roll it outward and and pop your wrist up instead of down. Does not have to be perfect.

    What's Cooking?

Good time had by all at the WFT Summer Pool Party
  3. Dunno, my rod tip isn't always down when walking a dog bait. Easy to walk tip up to. Depends on situation.
  4. Who cares Joe? We are who we are and fish when we can. We all obsess about fishing lures and gizmos but it is good to hear about what others like. Probably have...25-30 walking baits.....use 4-5 regularly.

    What's Cooking?

Chopped salad last night. Very good for little effort, but would use by homemade ceasar dressing next time.
  6. Great post Al. You are the man with a walking bait, plus you are a very accurate caster. Have learned a bunch from you. Thanks!
  7. Zoom Fluke or similar. Usually rig them weedless on a 4/0 EWG worm hook or a circle hook or octopus with a weed guard and nose hook them.
  8. Do like the Coosa, but it's a beast to toss on the ladder racks on my F150 4x4. Uneven weight distribution. Much easier to tie it in the bed for a day trip and toss the cooler etc in rear. Might be to small if you are over 200lbs. The old tarpon 120 is a good design but seating is not as comfy. Buddy's Tarpon 140 paddles really well. Lots of nice boats but I like my 15' solo canoe better. Less stable but faster than the Coosa, easy to load, holds more gear and the rod storage is better. I'm sure that a few folks here would let you paddle theirs before you buy.
  9. You should be able to catch some smallmouth if you are staying in Eminence. Usual suspects should work...Small brown or olive plastics on the bottom, or Zoom Flukes, walk the dog plug, etc.
  10. Tomatoes are looking good. Have a couple starting to turn red. Need to keep our Aussie out more to chase away the squiirels. Peppers looking good too.
  11. As long as you are floating;). Glad you had fun! Isn't any wrong or right, just gotta figure out your kit. Still refining a few. Way extra mostly.
  12. The big cooler was to big and not in the right place. two smaller. One fore, one aft.
  13. Can do if you pack light and eat de-hydrated backpacker meals. No cocktails unless you bring some hard liquor to mix with a dry mix and water. Not fun, would rather eat like a king. Could do if you have a buddy with 17' tandem canoe. He will have to haul all your beer, fresh food, and some of your gear to make it pleasant. Some do 420 or Psybiciilin instead of booze. Not my deal but it packs light.
  14. Tent camping out of a canoe for several days is my favorite kind of trip but the girls prefer our camper. Jayco 23B. Will go with a 28-30' Hard side for the next one.
  15. Amazing how they can change their looks, but light with the bars is my favorite color phase. Nice photo.
  16. Good for you guys! Looks like fun!
  17. Great flies! Will catch anything that feeds on baitfish.
  18. It's a nice campground, most are primitive sites, but they have pit toilets and water spigots...a couple sites have electric. You could fish all of those creeks in a day if you want. Only a 20 minute drive from one to another. Have a great trip.

    Hole in One

Good for you. Have seen two. And 3-4 that bounced out of the cup. Used to caddy at Sunset CC.
  20. Have met some great folks on fishing forums. Fished with a bunch of them, and not a bad one in the mix.
  21. Can get private access to that creek, but It's really not worth the hassle with my buddies jackwagon neighbors.
  22. Was slow Memorial Day weekend too. Water levels have been up and down. It will only get better.
  23. Good for you guys! Water looks perfect for a 1/2 oz spinner with a swim bait trailer. Crank bait maybe, or big jig.
  24. Think that a few people know his name. Outfitters have it for sure and his license plate most likely.
