  1. Mr. Smallie Bigs can dance around on his Coosa....Darn good down river boat for a day trip..can haul enough possibles for a couple summer nights camping in that boat. Not enough capacity for more than 2 nights or winter tripping...but a very solid boat. The Perception Pescador is good too...not gonna stand in it...comfy with some seat mods...alot cheaper. Will hold enough gear for an overnight if you are a minimalist...I usually end up hauling the cant do withouts in my big old barge/commissary boat of a canoe whenever I overnight with with kayakers.
  2. I'd call the folks at Gasconade Hills and Boiling Springs and ask about river conditions... http://www.gasconadehills.com/ http://www.bscfloattrips.com/ Water levels are up right now with more rain in the forecast for early next week. Good luck.
  3. Gotta be a mountain lion too!
  4. Sound like fun...beer, bloodies & irish coffee before the buzzer, fish taco's for lunch. More the merrier!
  5. Park fishing is what it its...but its one of those things you need to know how to do. Its a great place to refine your skills over a combination of easy, and reluctant trout in a crowded atmosphere. Hard part is picking out the one you want to catch and catching it. Wild fish are usually easy in comparison to some of those spooked & jaded park fish. We dont have much trout water in Missouri and Arkansas...but what little we do have is some of the best you will ever find. Give it a go and you will be pleasantly surprised by the diversity and quality that is available to you. Parks, Tailwaters, Put & take streams & ponds, lots of put grow and take river fisheries, some jump across creeks with wild rainbows, trout in places that you would never expect...Tons of smallmouth streams, and some big lakes too.......We have it pretty darn good here, and darn right we are proud.
  6. Not the end of anything....but not good for jobs in MO....Thinking that the toddler in chief has finally publically crapped in his play pen.
  7. Not worth a debate....something slipped past the editor.
  8. You have declared Shenanigans CW! Gotta follow through on that!
  9. Geez you have a good memory CW. That conversation took place over a dozen years ago. The shenanigans will have to wait until next year again! Darnit;>)!
  10. Tube topped, flip flopped, fatties dont qualify as cougars.
  11. Thats not a boat, its a river tank! You sure that a 90/65 is gonna cut it?
  12. Welcome...lots of canoe, kayak, & wade fishers from the STL area on this site...Got a boat...lets go float.
  13. Love em...Finally got enough for a build last week. The kids did well.
  14. That means its flooded...normal flow is represented by those little tan triangles.
  15. Edge Rods is appears to be a subsidiary of North Fork Composites. http://www.northforkcomposites.com/ http://www.edgerods.com/ Planning to wrap one or two of them in the next month or so.
  16. Good for you guys! I'd call that a great day.

  20. Have one in my Mad River Solo...I like it....but I dont see how that one works.
  21. I usually float with friends but we usually paddle in separate boats. Makes for a better balance of togetherness and do your own thing time. I'm usually alone when I wade fish. Alone or with a friend, its all fun.
  22. I've been seeing a bunch of folks in little 2wd sedans getting stuck on the little hill in front of my office. Wrong vehicle to be driving right now.
  23. Not a fan of Leinenkugles stuff. Most seem a bit watery. Will drink most anything from Stone, Odell's, Left Hand, and some of Schlafly's offerings...In a can... Caldera makes some super tasty brews.
  24. To many go to lures...Cover it from top to bottom and figure out what works best..I like a top to bottom approach...and I fish pretty fast unless the fish tell me something else..I always have at least 4 rods rigged on a float..usually start with these.....Walking bait, suspending jerkbait, spinnerbait, jig & chunk...then adjust if needed....Buzzer, Fluke, Swim Jig, Soft Plastics.
