  1. Yea, well I could also just go and buy one from a crackhead for $20.00 down town St Louis. (much cheaper than the printer, much less the materials needed to make the item "printed".) My point is again ENFORCEMENT. I heard on the radio this morning the one who did this committed over 26 felonies. We have all of the laws we need, laws do nothing to deter many from breaking them. Lets start enforcing them from a young age. Lets get rid of the excuses of mental capacity, age, bad childhood, etc. IF YOU DO THE CRIME, YOU DO THE TIME!. When we show others that you pay for your acts, no matter positive or negative, you get rewarded or punished. If people are made to think twice, then it will be less likely that we hear about these situations. It is the butterfly effect. If I see someone break a law and no one punishes that person, I will likely break that same law if I believe it affects me in a negative way. If I see someone who gets punished for breaking the law, (Punishment shall fit the offence) then I will probably not follow suit. This will not keep everyone from committing crimes, but it will slow down much of it. We start small, then work to larger scale showing anyone who may think about harming others, there are consequences, and we will follow through. I guess, as the title states...... The enemy IS denial. We deny ourselves the lives we should live in the name of "Humanity". What about the inhumanity that was imposed on any victims of any crimes?
  2. Between the economy, and the addition of kids over the last 6 years, I have not been able to fish but a few times a year. I now work 2 1/2 jobs ( a seasonal job) and I don't see that changing much soon. It really is a shame as I have a large creek that is within walking distance, and I drive over it multiple times daily just looking at it with hungry eyes.
  3. As was mentioned earlier I enjoy the pictures, of fish, of harvested game,of plants, of the members on the site, etc. I am also guilty of not uploading photos, but I will try to make it a more concious effort to do so in the future. I am on the St Louis side, but do not get out as much as some, but when I do, I am more than excited to post my reports. Bring on the pictures. Good topic.
  4. Good job to you both. Beats alot of the stuff I've been reading.
  5. Good for you, It is life changing like many have told you, but just like everything else, you adapt and it is not like a tornado has come through as some will try to have you believe. I have 3 children 13, 6, and 3. You could have took your pick and I would gladly have traded you for a day or two. mic, that is funny (kind of). Suprised your still alive. (done hijaking.)
  6. Good writeup. Go's to show that hard work does pay off.
  7. Sounds like fun.
  8. X3-for me. As I'm reading through, I can't help but wonder who taught some hunters (or failed to teach) about ethics, and quick clean kills. For the non hunters, that is and should be taught and practiced at all times.
  9. I have never used any kind of fuel stabilizer (not saying good or bad, just haven't), and my small engines have always started. I don't have a boat motor, but my lawn mower gas can sits for quite a while, and the fuel in the mower has never gave me any kind of problem. My last mower was 7 years old and never has been "winterized", always started up for me in the spring, my weed trimmer is still going after 7 years, and that fuel is stored longer. The trimmer fuel is mixed and I have been told that the oil mix acts as a stabilizer. I don't know though.
  10. Thank you Billet Head, I did not know that it mattered. That is good to know. :-)
  11. Interesting. Now out of genuine curiousity, ( not a sarcastic question ) where was the checkpoint, and how would they know you did not process legally? Just seems like it would be alot of detective work to get someone after the game was processed. I clarified the question because sometimes when things are in text form, there is no emotion that can be processed from the question/statement.
  12. Just a thought...... but wouldn't the canned trout, or any fish for that matter count toward your possesion limit? Kinda takes away the benefit if your preparing on storing up for the future.
  13. Griz, That is an awesome idea. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I was thinking the large dark object/feed trough/Water bucket etc. was a fire pit. I agree that the cat seems to be layered into the picture. Fun topic none the less.
  15. ....so... since golf and fishing are out, tic tac toe, anyone?
  16. Little far for me. Hope its a good time, enjoy your time off.
  17. NO NEW TAXES. Lets run the country like we do our households. Can't afford it, don't buy it. There are many charities that will help pay for medical problems or bills, government should not be held to pay for people's misfortunes whether they put it on themselves or not. Smoking isshown to cause problems, but, I believe there are many other things that cause the same problems that cigarettes are blamed on. Take car exaust for one. If you were to close yourself in a confined space with limited fresh air while a car is running in that same space, you will most likely get some kind of respiratory disease (example Lung Cancer). We do this to ourselves daily while driving behind someone else's car with our windows rolled up using a/c or the heater. Yet, we scream unfair when we have to take our car to the emmission stations and it fails. Just a start on many things we do that can cause the problems blamed on smoking.
  18. good job. good luck for the rest of the season.
  19. Welcome Paul. I'm sure you will find this site productive.
  20. I don't think anyone thinks it is wierd. You have a desire to fish, and you are seeing if anyone else can help or needs help (covering supplies). Kind of a slow time to start on the boat track I would guess though as it is getting cooler out. Keep up with the group and some tips will make thier way to you. No one can help you if you don't ask. Welcome, by the way.
