1976 Evinrude 25HP
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Daryk Campbell Sr's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I decided to replace the bushing and try the option of marking just to see if that was the problem. Well, I guess I learned why a shop is recommended to do the work. I cracked the outer housing in 2 spots. -

I did read that way to diagnose it, but I really couldn't think of another issue it could have been. The lake is an hour and a half away, so I got a bit anxious to find a reason for the issue. The bottom of the boat is flat with the anti cavitation plate. I used a ball joint press from the auto parts store loaner tools to remove the hub. It wasn't too difficult. -
I still have some of the baits you gave out a few years back. A number of the bass in my creek liked them.

I figured he would reply in his own time and convenience. Also if anyone else may have experienced something similar, kinda hoping for thoughts. Overall, I'm still happy with the motor and experience. I am bad about not returning stuff and just dont need extra parts laying around. I above enough of those. LOL. -

I took the boat out on Lake Kinkade. It pushed well under low and medium power. High throttle it acted as if it was cavitating, and revving really high. I thought it was due to a spun hub. I ordered a new rubber hub, but they sent a 15 spline instead of 13. When I research the correct prop, it says 9.25 x 12 inch with 13 splines. When I measured the prop it showed maybe 8.5 inches. I plan to order the prop, but wanted to know if its possible the lower unit was replaced and if that may cause me to be chasing my tail. -

Even with the bad weather and unfortunate tides, it still sounds like a great trip. -

@gotmuddy you got anything to say about that? LOL @eknapp, there is alot of good advice on here, and @Ryan Miloshewski is familiar with that river. We will be down there for Jigfest next month. Come hangout with us for the day, or weekend. Every member is invited, and we'll even feed you. You can get alot of info and meet alot of us. Search the forums for Jigest for dates. We stay at Rileys Outfitters in Mountain Home, at the confluence of the White and Buffalo Rivers. -
Just what the phone "saw". I honestly wouldn't have taken the picture if others weren't getting neat colors of the sky. I took a few others, all random as I couldn't see anything different than any other night.

I will bring the smoker chicken thighs, wings and charcoal. I will bring peanuts and some deviled eggs as well. Anyone is welcome to use the smoker and charcoal.

I'm gonna be greedy and ask for 2. (l) Xl, and (1) 2xl. I'll gladly pay. I'm in-between weights and not sure what will fit better long term. -
They still reside there. I've seen them, a black widow, and scorpions on S-F property. As well as deer, turkey and many species of snakes.

I bought the (half) pork loin from Walmart. I did not trim it at all. The recipe states to wrap it with food safe thread. I didn't have any, so I used the skewers. I used the recipe from the following link. I thought it was amazing, the kids didn't seem to care for it, but they insist it was good. https://cookthestory.com/how-to-stuff-pork-loin/ The Brussels sprouts were tossed in olive oil, course ground salt and pepper. Roasted for 20 minutes while the pork was resting, added the parmesean cheese after and roasted for 5 or 10 minutes longer with the pork.

What I'm Hearing On The Park
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to oneshot 1's topic in Bennett Springs State Park
Growing up with parents who didn't fish, I was a recipient of the opportunity to fish for trout. There are many who get to experience the option to catch trout in those ponds. Many city folks dont have quality transportation to leave their 1 county area, much less travel within 5 counties. Side note, St Louis City is not within any county. While the expenses are tough to justify especially when you are not on the receiving end, I can tell you from personal experience it is a great positive to the residents who fish. You may have heard all of the negative about the bucket brigade, and I won't try to act like it doesn't exist. But there are many many more who do adhere to the laws. Them same city people buy licenses and trout stamps for the same price as the country people. I would tend to believe the country people benefit more per dollar spent as they have more options than ~20 or so stocked ponds within area of city residents. Truth be told most fish less than 5 ponds. Luckily for me, I found this forum. Honestly. I've learned much more and had many more experiences, and new waters that I would never considered. All for the same cost as the limited city kid who modifies his bike to hold 2 rods and carries his takle box on the handlebars to ride 2-3 miles to the nearest pond in December.
