  1. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CmauyLkpu/ Its not mine, I dont know them. Just seen and remembered your post.
  2. Devin thanks for the report, even though it seems like it was really tough trip. The pictures look great and you details really paint a picture of a tremendously unique opportunity. These are the things that memories will be made of. Rarely will we remember the blue skies and easy bites.
  3. Merry Christmas Rick to you and yours. Merry Christmas to all OAF Friends and family. Catching fish is a blessing. I generally consider it a bonus, as being able to go out and enjoy nature is generally a blessing in its own.
  4. Maybe then we will know Where Waldo Is. LOL. Assuming that was the boat.
  5. I stand corrected.... and apparently I'm not one of the "very good fishermen". LOL. They are generally larger than the fish I typically target as well.
  6. We had a great time at Jigfest. Hang Loose my friend.
  7. I don't believe any browns were caught at Jigfest this year.i got into some healthier rainbows in the deeper water. A few years back, Cody took me up to the narrows, it was a really fun spot.
  8. That's one of the benefits of Jigfest. There are not usually many if any others out while we are. Not a fan of combat fishing.
  9. Funny you should mention that. That's one we watched.
  10. Excellent discussion and viewpoints. I feel like I agree completely with each one mentioned including the original post. @WestCentralFisher I believe you are far from alone in your experience. We all enjoy things for different reasons. I don't believe anything I could contribute would be different than previously posted. I hope you're able to find a spark with something enjoyable.
  11. We did not get 2 of them (XL) Kevin and Brandon , I do believe they will attend Taneyfest.
  12. Ray and Rick, Ray is catching a decent rainbow.i just cant get away fromthe pretty tiny fish. The BilletHeads deeply concentrating on presentation of their flies. Bret and Michael The Billetheads having a conversation with Rick and Ray.the famous wok.Cody made Lo Mein for dinner Saturday.
  13. Sauce Piquant, my second plate. These brownies were amazing, I don't know who to give credit to. Rick and my son Lucas. Cody's famous trout dip. Mile singing an picking for us around the fire. FROSTY MORNING A common sight. My boat, Patriot. Sauce Piquant mde by the BilletHeads. Flat.out amazing Cody realizing the packet gravy isn't so bad after all. Rob and Cody slaving over the hot stove to make the crew breakfast. Lucas beginning to understand what Jigfest stories are made of.
  14. My report is a little different. My primary focus after food and fellowship was to test and tune my boat, which I've named Patriot. I bought it to flip and make a few dollars. Well, I decided to keep it, and my kids and I gutted it, sanded it down, painted and reworked it to its current glory. Each star was placed by hand. Most have followed the Frankenstein motor rebuild/swap. Well this weekend inwas successful in getting it to plane out for the first time. I'll save the extended details but friends met here are so valuable. I've gotten advice from @fishinwrench both directly and indirectly, Cody @gotmuddy has taken video chats a few times and helped me through more than he even realizes. Rob went to multiple stores and talked to alot of people to find a hydrofoil as a last resort to get my motor working correctly. Well, I was very pleased with the performance of the boat and motor while at Jigfest. I asked Cody if I could borrow a couple spider chairs, he went above and beyond and found me a couple seat frames to match a couple seats I already had. We ate tremendously good food, had more laughs than I can try to explain, and the camaraderie gives me a feeling that just warms the soul. I did catch fish, more than I truly expected. I got to bring my 19 year old son to something that he has heard so many good stories about. He got to experience an amazing gathering with some of the best people I know. Here come the pictures... My fist fish, skunk is over, time to concentrate on the motor. Although @Ham thought my priorities were not in order. LOL Ham and Phil BretCody and RobLucas testing the boat before the Hydrofoil was installed. Half of the 13th anniversary crew. Rob, Ray, Cody, Lucas, Brett, Jeff and Michael. The other half of the 13th anniversary crew. Phill Pat, Marty, Ham and Rick. Eric came by as well, but i failed to get a picture of him. 20251212_150155.mp4
  15. The fruit of your labor has made it to Festus, MO. We'll, I was wrong. She did kiss me. LOL
  16. We stay very close to Rim Shoals.
  17. I will have a 14ft boat with 25 hp prop. It may still need some adjustment.
  18. Please keep this going, and post a reminder next year. Ive been wanting to participate for many years and it just doesn't work wirh family. ....of course this year I probably could have squeezed it in. Congrats on the cred.
  19. They look like they are eating well.
  20. I'm a sucker for brownies. My son brought me some yesterday, they were breakfast this morning.
  21. There are some guys catching on taco flies on one of the groups I'm in on Facebook
  22. Thank you. I genuinely am thankful for the friendships I've gained by hanging out here. Happy Thanksgiving OAF.
  23. I decided to replace the bushing and try the option of marking just to see if that was the problem. Well, I guess I learned why a shop is recommended to do the work. I cracked the outer housing in 2 spots.
  24. I did read that way to diagnose it, but I really couldn't think of another issue it could have been. The lake is an hour and a half away, so I got a bit anxious to find a reason for the issue. The bottom of the boat is flat with the anti cavitation plate. I used a ball joint press from the auto parts store loaner tools to remove the hub. It wasn't too difficult.
